Would mixing 89 octane and 93 octane in equal amounts effectively give 91 octane?

Or have the same effect or whatever

I don't see any definitive answers.

I mix 100 and 91 sometimes in my E63 AMG (91 is the highest in SoCal at all stations and with a few 76 stations selling 100.)

Not really any difference due to the ECU's timing and set up for 93 RON minimum rating. If I had a tune mapped for higher octane, then it would make a difference.

Here's the ratio chart for 91 and 100 mixing: http://www.rennsportsystems.com/2a.html
Scroll down to about the middle of the page (there's other great info there about octane and motors, too.)

For other mixes look here and download the excel spreadsheet so you can do your own calculations of any mix: http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/Octanemix.html

Yeah agree that it's a crappy website but if you were a Porsche owner and PCA member, you'd know about Rennsport System's reputation and understand that they aren't a fluff company with just a fancy website. People know them already, they don't need to really sell themselves, And yeah, they haven't changed the site in a while.... But they are very good especially with air cooled....
