I don't think so. The blue one on the first page looks the same, like you can see an oil cooler through the opening/vent/duct, same with the gray one on the previous page in the post that you first made.

As said above, most likely a different package on those certain cars compared to the one where you see it looking blocked off almost.

Could be the optional M Technic Package (which mentions additional cooling), but at least in the configurator, it's not rendered differently.

It's also suspiciously cheap at only 320 EUR in Germany.
Ahhh maybe it's the high performance cooling/track pack. That will be a must have if it opens those vents up!

It wasn't a challenge, more so me picking his brain on something I might of missed. So many threads on the subject and the info are scattered all over.. You never know..

Just saying, it's kind of surprising they gave the M240i fenders so much girth, so when the poster suggested they might be catering on CCing this platform into an M2, it got me thinking.

But hey, if I was mistaken, I have no issue with being corrected. I'm here to learn, not be right.. 🤓
Let's hope we're right, and the M2 is EPIC! I'll be first in line to buy one.

These look great IMO. I think there is a lot of potential with this new design and it's set up for an excellent looking coupe in the LCI/M2 guise.

I was also in the undecided camp but actually there's no doubt it's an improvement from the F22. It just needs a slight modification in the headlights and tailights and front bumper areas to make it look great.

Just like the 2 series was much improved in the LCI I think the same will happen here. Only problem is that we gotta wait 3-4 years for that.

Not sure what's going on with the triangle shapes with this and the more intense ones on the new X3. It's not bad. I prefer the older model though

Anyone find real pictures of the M240i in black with the upgraded black trim package and wheels? that's the version I really want to see.

I think it looks fantastic in the Purple. What concerns me is there is no manual-transmission available in either model and the M240i only comes in AWD. So much for the spiritual replacement for the 2002 the E82 was when it came out. And 4-inches longer than the previous generation? It has to be nearly as big as an E92!

The old car definitely had nicer surfacing
It is evident to me they wanted to steer away from flame surfacing.

The flame surfacing of the F22 created a soft concave sheet metal indent.

They don't seem to want any much soft curves this gen. Everything is more angular and sharp edged.

Something tells me sooner in some parts of the world, I don't see how it can pass the proposed Euro7 emissions.

I truly believe this gen will be the last ICE models.

Proof! Wider fenders front and rear! Or so it would seem.

Don’t expect to have anyone sit in back seats but the good part is front seats can go backwards for plenty of space up front and they can recline back far enough to take a nap. Can’t do that in the Supra

Not for me.

The G42 being slightly longer looks correct now at the back vs the slightly squab F22. I owned an F22 and F87 btw so love those cars, this just looks a great evolution to me.

Eh, I disagree. This is very M4ish with its super long hood and extended trunk. I prefer the look of the F22/87.
