Yeah the sport seats in the US are terrible for me.

This shows the variaton in human anatomy. My wife and I are very comfortable in the X3's Sport seats, even moreso than in the 3 Series it replaced. Test drives are critical!

Yep. Funny enough, the sport seats in both the 3 series and 5 series (G30) are terrible for me. But in the X3, they were okay. Not great but okay. Obviously seating position is different in the SUV than sedan.

There are likely subtle differences due to the fact that BMW contracts with different seat suppliers on different models. The company that makes the X5 and up seats for BMW at the Spartanburg plant does not make the X3 seats.

All these opinions are based on loaners I got during service visits. My dealer pretty much only has base models. I’ve seen a 540 and once got a 740, but those are exceptions. Not a big market, so not a big dealer. I’m very interested in this next X3. If they improve the luxury/seating, it will be a really attractive model in the lineup, I think.

Question for current or previous X3 owners, the X1 or X2 on transverse engine layout and FWD-biased xDrive systems don't hold a candle to a X3 xDrive in terms of handling/nimbleness, correct?
Not trying to be a snob but just wanted to know if the X3 is better in almost every way, except the higher pricing. |

BMWBlog article from 4/09/24: https://www.bmwblog.com/2024/04/09/d...t-suv-anymore/
While most of the details are already known, the whole "BMW showed dealers the new X3 and they said it doesn't look like a CUV anymore" is a weird statement. From the camo, most of the previous posts here guessed that it looks more like a smaller crossover; this article exclusively states that it's bigger and heavier. Maybe it's just the trunk/spoiler sloping, ala X4.

New BMWBlog video with a much more in-depth interior exploration.
There's a funny moment where he's going through the parking light settings and the center screen shows the 3D model of an X1 instead of an X3. But the rest is pretty informative if you've got one on order, and it shows the alcantara/black combo that people have expressed disdain for after the pics came out.

I gotta say, the outside looks good, and the inside is growing on me. Great to see another take on the alcantara interior. I agree it looked poor in the previous pics but quality looks better here. |

This is the first time I've seen the ambient lighting on the rear doors. It's much more subtle than on the front. Glad to know that there's some cohesion lighting-wise in the rear.

Skip to the 12:47 mark in this video. It's just a quick glance, but it's there.
It's also visible at the 7:36 mark in this video, though this guy didn't call it out explicitly: Last edited by MidnightLight; 08-29-2024 at 06:35 PM.. |

It’s also shown in the early videos, it glows near rear door grab area, a bit like the door bin ambient lighting before it was deleted, but no light strip.
