My grandfather could amortize a mortgage with pencil and paper. My dad, with a spreadsheet. Would it be fair to say anyone under 50 likely can't figure out a mortgage payment without the internet? I swear I have visions of people sitting down to buy a car, and they're waiting for the finance manager to tell them what it will cost a month--like it's a mystery as unusual as the Lochness Monster (is that spelled right lol)

I loved my 12C and 15C! It was how you separated the math wheat from the chaff in class!!!

I still have mine somewhere. I will have to find them.

What's funny is I still use my HP 12C and HP 41CV both with RPN. When I attempt to use a calculator with an "=" I get confused. So inefficient!

I even have the 12C on my Pixel.

Playing devil's advocate, I have a lot of fun messing with their minds by twisting their four-square math around. They like to work with monthly payments in their negotiations, and I insist that all math be done in total prices. Tips the negotiating table in my direction when they have to think.....

No...it's over when you force them to think. It's literally throwing a hand grenade into the room and walking away. BOOM.

I bought my car as a trade-in from a guy that couldn't get in and out of it anymore. He bought an SUV.

I distinctly remember when people asked if they could borrow a calculator, I would hand them the 15C, they'd look at it, and hand it back

I was relieved that the coin cells of today still work in the 80's 15C....

You know you're old when your mom rubbed Vicks Vapo rub on your chest when you had a cold, then put you in bed.

Still awesome stuff. The nasal inhalers are good to have on flights in case you get the nasal passage pain from the depressurization.
