Two words: It sucks...
If I was on vacation I would be really P.O. Can't stand the sun let alone that kind of temperature (95°F). Not sure if I mentioned it here (my wife hears it every other day), if the temperature all year round would be either -30°C or +30°C, well I would have no use for a lawnmower |

I saw on Sky News today that the UK is expecting to see 40C (104F) for the first time in recorded history tomorrow. Their highest temperature ever was 38.7C (101.7F). The UK Met Office is sending out all kinds of red alerts for the heat, and mass transit operators are advising people to stay home Monday and Tuesday.....

A few years ago, I heard a report that a Microsoft cloud data center in Ireland went down during a heat wave because it wasn't equipped with air conditioning to handle the unusual temperatures.....

Reports from the UK this afternoon include Wales setting an all-time high temperature, the RAF having to close their largest base because the runway melted, and London/Luton suspending flights due to a runway buckling from the excessive sub-40C heat.
I wonder how well-versed the British airports are about reduced takeoff weights and longer takeoff rolls from the less-dense air in warm weather?????

But even with AC, I can set it to 69, yesterday for the sun went down the house heated up to 78 inside. House is brick and the backside (and chimney) face due south with no shade. No it's just a massive heat sink. |

Saharan dust arriving to dry things out for a few days. Not a bad thing since house is getting painted this week.
