The ES line is exactly this, so they wouldn't be far off.

Funny how people love badges. I purposed deleted my M4 badge.
I didn't get a picture but there was a guy in a M235 all blacked out but his badge said "M2", kept wanting to race so I showed him the true power of M.

Pretty much. I bet most people wouldn't notice but since I'm a car nut I saw right through those badges

Haha, I have a VW 1.8T badge on my 96 civic... Let's just say them VW boys were quite upset about it, got even more upset when my 1.8T civic smoked them!

Anyone ever think maybe they just love M cars? Possibly have one as a second car?

Who cares what people do to their car IMO.

My favorite is an acquaintance who debadges both of his 335 and x5 in the hopes that people will think they are M. Both great cars. Sad that he has a complex about them.

Here's another one...not a fake badge, but more of an "overbadge."

I debadged my 328 in hopes that it would clean up the rear end a bit. Do you think that may be his motive as well?

Definitely not the reason he does it. Not questioning your motive at all. But he has literally said to me that he does it for the reason I stated.

I actually rewrote how I was going to say that just so it didn't seem like I was questioning your judgement, so thank you for being civil. I hear ya, I am not sure what some people are thinking. I was talking with a guy in Virginia at the beginning of the year and he swore up and down that his car was an M3, but it was a 335i. He badged it all up and was bragging to some chick. We asked him if it was turbo charged and he said, "hell yes it is, twin turbo charged is the ONLY way the M engineers do anything!" It was an E92. Sigh.........

No worries man. Thanks for being civil on your side too. The anecdote you shared could easily have been the guy I was referencing. He also lives in VA. Don't get those guys at all. I have a 330i too and badge or no badge would never pretend like it's something it isn't.

I just noticed that you are out there! My brother is the guitarist for The Deloreans, so go look them up and jam out!

This dude had all sorts of M3 shit on his car. That is the reason I approached him.

Will definitely try to check them out Mhead. Love the use of Pacman on their site - assuming I found the right band.

That is them for sure! They play all over the east coast. Let them know that Matt sent you. Actually, just go up to the long haired guitarist and tell him you talked to his brother on the BMW forum. He will instantly love you!!
