Just curious, did you get a 22/45 or a Mk IV?

It's a MKIII, so smaller grip than the 22/45. My wife was using a 22/45 at the range, borrowed and wanted something with a bit smaller grip.

My wife wants a .357 revolver, my gun guy has a lightly used Smith 626 .357 in stainless, with factory rubber grips for $699 ($532 US), I'm thinking of grabbing it too, seems like a good deal. Am I wrong...maybe give it to her for her birthday.
She's just now getting a .22 pistol to learn the basics yet she wants a .357? Has she touched off a high test .357 round yet? She'll be changing her mind right quick I would think. could start her on specials and work up to the mags but most women I know give up pretty quick with hot ones.

She's a petite lady? The stock 22/45 isn't very big.

5'4" 120LBs of fury . She does have small hands, and is challenged with something with a stacked mag. I bought her a Henry Golden Boy (youth) last year Valentines Day.

She has fired a .40 Sig 226, she's fired .38 and a .45 black powder revolver, she's also shot 870 Remington, MP5 and C8 (AR-15) She's not bothered by the centre fire stuff. I'm of the view that while she get's technique down she can build confidence with cheaper smaller calibre. I have tons of .38 at home so that's what will most likely be going through the .357 most of the time.

Just did some work on my Ruger Mark II, VQ Accurizing kit, VQ grips and added a Vortex Venom. I love this gun, my dad bought it for me when I turned 18.

Nice.

You obviously aren't afraid to spend a few bucks on the gun, have you considered replacing or threading the barrel? And... maybe you know where I'm going with this- getting a silencer?

That really cranks up the fun factor of shooting a .22

That's what this one is for! I use the ruger for competitions. The Walther is for pinging plates at the range.

Well done, Sir!

What can is that? I don't recall seeing it before, most of the suppressors on the market are long and skinny.

This is my plinker and/or rodent control device:

It's the rebel silencer "micro". Does a surprisngly good job. Not as good as a full size can but they sent it free since I got my kitchen FFL guy to sign up as a vendor with them. Still cost me the $200 infringement..

Anyone interested in a custom G19 Gen. 3 slide? No markings, bought at gun show a couple years back. Only put about 300 rounds through it. Full upper parts kit installed, just sitting around so I kind of want to get rid of it.

I bought a new Colt Govt Series 70 01970A1CS some months back, I'm a southpaw and want to install ambi safety. Does anyone have Wilsons ambi bulletproof tactical safety on their 1911? I looking for the thumb paddles to be very close the smaller GI type already on the pistol. They look about the right size from the pics online but just want to hear from someone who has them before ordering. Thanks

Defense: Black Talons in my bedside and carry Glocks... oh wait, they're called Ranger T's now, sorry

Range: Haven't been on a range since I retired from the military 4 years ago... I bought property. That being said, I mostly shoot winchester 147g hp white box ammo to stay sharp with my pistol. Most of the time, I use CCI SV to plink out to around 100yds with my Rugers.

Backup: perpetually pissed off 90lb dog that hates everyone but me and my wife

I remember when we transitioned to Glock .40, they issue Black Talon for our duty ammo but it's referred to as "controlled expansion" ammunition. Sounds very PC.

It's all about the optics. ;p It's about demonizing objects to avoid placing blame on the actual source of crimes... people.

I like Underwood preferably loaded with XTPs for self defense ammo. Range ammo I like Georgia Arms, it's loaded hotter than most white box ammo so more analogous to your defensive loads at a great price. But I'll shoot the Walmart special too.
