The top tires for 2015 were Bridgestone RE-71R's/Dunlop Star Specs Z2's/Hankook RS-3's, BFGoodrich Rivals (not in a particular order)

Similar Results in San Diego, Dixie etc. An e92 won the FS class
These guys go through 2 - 4 sets of tires a summer.

I'm the first one to say when i'm wrong...So you are right and I'm wrong .
You was talking about the stone RE-71 and the tire is actually brand new , but I need to say that I'm verry happy with my PSS .
And actually I would love to know more about the RE-71, so do "you" run with them for the moment and are they that much better than the PSS and also on wet road conditions because here in Belgium we have about 200 days of rain in 1 year ?
Sorry bro for my misunderstanding...

I personally think that on the E92, the best warm weather street tire, for the street, was the PS2s. I didn't care for the PSSs. There was a noticeable difference in grip in the dry and the wet.

I ran the Re-71s a long time ago and could not stand them, so i've never given BS another chance. The Conti Sport contacts sucked on E46 and again the PS2s seem to suit that car best as well.

And what's even more important with mama lups behind the wheel with DSC Off, the predictable breakaway characteristics of the RE-71's.

The other great thing about the RE-71, it has a single compound throughout the tire, the grip stays up there as the tires wear out..

I object to the predictability. How would that be entertaining?

I want to love the PSS, but they are terrible in the wet... PS2's still handled business when we would have rain once every three years over here in SoCal...

Guess I'll be okay with the PSS until the blizzards come in...

You gotta be kidding about PS2's. Hahaha

The RE-71's came out this summer (2015). I know bc i had to wait for a set, so there's no way you ran them a long time ago.

Nope, not kidding. Don't know if it was the combination of my climate and pavement and suspension set up or what, but those tires were fantastic on every M3 i had them on.

Like i said it was a long time ago when i was swapping round tires trying all kinds of different ones. Maybe 18 - 20 years ago. So what ever the "extreme performance" tire BS had back then sucked donkey balls. And pirellis were just garbage. I had two sets bought new and at about 1/3 tread left it would just throw blocks of tread off. Even back then the Michelin tires were the best all around performance tire. Consistent grip through the live of the tire, good in wet, great in dry.

I do know that the PS2s under about 55 degrees is very slick. So for any cool climate i can see people not liking them that well. I really don't care for the PSS though. The difference was perceived the instant i left the shop. I thought it might be some mold release that needs to be burned off the tires. But they were consistently poor performance compared to the PS2s. PS2s were very consistent and very predictable. I always have DSC off and they are very controllable tires when going sideways.

Just my self loving $.02 based on personal experience.

They don't make them for M6 CP. Maybe when I'm ready for new shoes, I'll check these out. In the meantime, the PSSs seem to be just fine for the limits of my driving ability.

There must be a reason people dont run PSS's/PS2's at the nationals or regionals in Florida.

On a 3,500+ lb RWD car, the RE-71's, R-S3's are what i'd recommend, based on my experience and i have been within tenths of a national champion at a local event. He was also on RE-71's.
Those guys can go through 3 or 4 sets of tires a season (summer)and they do their homework.

I had the version 2 Star Specs Z2's that are better than the PSS's, the RE-71's are easily a second faster on a 34 second course.

The RE-71's wear out faster tho but they're so close to R comps .

The BS tires i was talking about were from 18 or so years ago. I have zero experience with BS tires from 2015 and don't hardly give a fuck about what they do on a track. In my experience, for the street, the PS2s in FL were hard to beat. And i hold no special place for PSSs, i wouldn't buy them again. I would definitely give BS a shot these days.

If you post that stupid graphic again i'm going to mail you a bag of gummy dicks for SS.
