Sounds like they definitely did not go that route. Maybe the tech but as others had said you can get the same tech in a Kia and therefore tech does not mean luxury, Apparently bmw plans to try to continue to trick us into thinking it does...

I am very pessimistic on this. It sounds like a much shittier version of the new 5 series which has crap interior except for some fancy lighting and nice seats. X3 won’t even have nice seats. Get ready for a new wrapper on the same shit sport seats and hard plastics everywhere. Very disappointing.

I know you might be holding out for the new x5 - but I’m so bearish on quality on these new models. Said it before LCI x5 where they didn’t completely strip the car of pre existing soft touch and features might be the best combination of good build quality and new tech that we are gonna get from bmw for a long time…

I can’t recall what, but I read some lame excuse about lower quality of materials in the latest cars being a fallout of the Covid period.Apparently the new Cayenne refresh is also a big downgrade in terms of interior quality, including more plastics accompanied with squeaks and rattles never experienced in earlier versions. The begin of an era to pay a lot more for lesser quality, great…

Wouldn't there also be a button on the door for the massage besides the menu in ID? It's still there for the LCI X5 and X7 with 8.5.

As you mentioned, there is in those LCI's but who knows with minimalist new designs.

Some observers from China had said lots of luxury cars being discounted for 40-50% MSRP. EQE was one that was mentioned and the i3 was also heavily discounted.

I have no way of vetting those claims but hoping these incessant price increases stop or at least discounts become more generous or quality/creature comfort stay constant or increases in the upcoming models.

This M40i is my wife's first foray into German luxury vehicle and hoping it won't be last BUT if Neue Klasse is really the design language BMW is heading towards for its EVs, I will definitely not be considering a BMW BEV. They're just too odd looking.

Yes, that is one of my options currently. I'm going to wait until we see the details on it and then decide which way to go. I have been looking at the SQ8 and have recently been doing some reading on the MDX Type S. The next generation of the Q7 will be out when the G65 is so will give that a look. Rumor has it there may be a two-row version but we will see. The Cayenne S is in the running and we will also have to see if Genesis' Magma line comes out with anything interesting.

I'm not in any rush but was hoping the X3 could be added to the list. I guess we will not for sure one way or the other within a week or so.

I have read the same in a number of articles. The vehicles coming out recently/shortly were designed when materials were not plentiful so we are seeing a lot less quality in the materials used.

Couldn't see anything from the pictures I saw of the X1 with the 'Active Front Seats w/Lumbar Support', but the 7er still has buttons on door for the massage.

Here's hoping their claim of getting upscaled materials and options close to the X5 wasn't all smoke.

Lots of options out there now that you went through the list, but we can’t lose you to those other forums haha!

I do really want to drive an sq8. The Audi throttle lag is pretty horrendous tho and their powertrains get abysmal mpg compared to bmw, but IMO they are generally speaking a smoother ride with the air suspension.

Yes, the throttle lag is one of my concerns. It seems to be especially annoying in city driving, which makes sense, but luckily that is a small percentage of my driving.

What I'm hoping for is that the G65 M60e will have the option of DHP. This would give us the best ride possible given the standard air suspension. Given that it will be the top G65 model I would think there is a good chance it will happen. Now if they only don't screw up the design or fill it will cheap materials.

I'm not going anywhere yet plus I plan on keeping the M340i for quite awhile or moving to an M850i.

The x5 m60e does sound like a nice car on paper if they do all that. Fingers crossed!

There is some strange and pretty cheap looking piano black plastic triangular thingy on the top near dash corners with some sensor buttons but i think its for the air vents.

Seat buttons are one to one with X1 on the side for sure.

Exactly that on on the right side of the picture!

Trust me it CAN be - all of us were kind of shocked. The whole presentation started with how ECO friendly they are .
I hope they have leather options otherwise - hm…again that material covers all the whole dash and doors where typically its leather …
Door handles are like in XM shape bit a bit bigger and hard plastic.

One thing is for sure - technical and mechanical side would be nice - especially with the new adaptive suspension settings, steering and engine tunes

Overall it does looks good and in black or some nice color would be even better but its the inside where it is contraversial

This would help upsell X5s. Although, there might be a simple M Performance grill upgrade available for a few hundred dollars….

Hmm this gives me some hope actually. Perhaps the fabric is just a gimmick option that BMW is using to get some marketing attention to trumpet how eco-friendly and innovative etc they are... while in actuality the vast majority of builds will be optioned with more normal interior materials. Let's see.

regarding first image in the tread:
pretty sure its not bmw official cgi. look at the lisence plate. letters are far too small and too thick. munich symbol is almost invisible.
check any bmw image on netcarshow, see the diffrence.
im not an expert on german licence plates, but isnt there too much letters/digits after munich designation?
moreover, the gap between lamp and hood looks strange.
my guess its another homemade rendering.
so, there's still hope

I am very curious to know if the panoramic roof of this car can still be opened. I use the panoramic roof very often, and it's an important part of my driving experience, especially here in Europe where the weather often allows for it.

If it turns out that the panoramic roof can't be opened anymore, I am seriously considering the BMW 3 Series as my next car (with a roof box, haha).

Honestly - will wait for the configurator..BUT i will most likely go with X5 50e - no compromise with materials ,power and looks.

Ladies and gents - that is 10000% the way the NEW X3 LOOKS we saw it in the same color combo the 50i.

That is the front.

The picture in post 1 is either cgi OR the electric version on the neue klasse

+1 to that. If the only option now is a Tesla-style panoramic glass roof and not an openable sunroof, this will give me a lot of pause.
