Nice, I had the benefit of being trained by cadre of folks that brought a wealth of real world experience. Excellent moving and shooting drills, drills that involved lots of stressors that mimicked real life shit, simunition active shooter training, entry training etc And I got to apply this training in real world situations. Dark places, shit weather and tunnel vision. I was always thankful that I belonged to a world class organization with real practical Use of Force training. And now, back to the rum.

Yeah but can you twirl the gun on your finger then shoot accurately over your shoulder from a moving vehicle at a moving target? Try diving thru the air and placing shots also then you got John wick level.

Either a red dot or a fiber optic front sight is a improvement to standard iron.

Got a red dot on my KSG and it works great.
fiber optic on my Benelli M2 and that feels like a red dot, but have to be sure to have a good cheek weld to ensure repeatable results. Red dots you have less to worry about that.

308 can reach out and touch someone very accurately.. though I consider it lobbing. I hit steel at 800 yards without issues with my Rem 700 18" in a Whiskey 3 chassis.

I'm curious.. did LV do the who can shoot the furthest at the steel target with a handgun? He seemed to have fun doing that during a break. I would have loved to learn from Ken Hackathorn. I need to take a quality defensive pistol class since I've mostly trained on carbines and long range stuff.

Personally I think I learned more from Travis Haley and Chris Costa when they were in Magpul Dynamics. I really enjoyed the talk about mindset and what could occur during and afterwards.

I was being a sponge to gun information one day recently.

Check this scenario out. If you are drinking a can of Coke, draw your pistol, your brain will not drop the Coke can to load another mag. You actually have to train your brain to drop something that means nothing as much as a can of soda.

So many people will attempt to load and cock the pistol with the can still in their hands.

No steel at this training but we did run drills were you had to stay in the black on B8 target. If you passed you backed up 5 yards and ran it again until there was one man standing. Justin Dyal, who writes for S.W.A.T. magazin won. He was a serious shooter with a 1911 or a Beretta. His time with Ernie Langdon was apparent.

KH is a interesting guy. He can still shoot. He is a no bullshit kind of guy. The course I took was basically the meat a potatoes part of a 5 Day Gunsite course. KH described it as in 2.5 days I don't have time to serve you desert. LOL He is close to retiring so if you can get to a training class he is running I would do it. I tried to get into his class with Bill Wilson at Wilson Combat last year. I was on the wait list but no one dropped out. I got lucky because a guy in the area is a friend of LV who lives in Charlotte and he was able to talk LAV & KH to do the class outside Raleigh.

I want to take the Gunsite 5 day but the cost of admission it high to get out to AZ. They run one in Richmond, VA which I am considering. Also Panteao just bought a range 2 1/2 hours from me and is offering some great classes. I am looking at a Bob Vogel class in Nov but he is a little more competition focused than I am but you cannot argue with the fact the man can shoot. I am nothing more than a slightly above avg shooter but I understand the concepts that it takes to be good. I am not a competition guy.

Did you train with Travis Haley and Chris Costa? Have you trained with LAV?

Here is a video of the guy who taught John Wick to shoot like John Wick.

My longest shooting rifle is Browning A-Bolt Stainless II Stalker in 7mm Rem Mag. On top is a Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x40 CDS. Fired it out to 500y but it should be good out over 1000. Going to have to head to Pa to stretch it out, I'm sure it's more capable then me at that distance.

What is it? I have a M1A Standard. With some minor mods( shimmed, trigger group, Sadlak guide rod) it shoots about 2MOA. I have a Leupold scope on top now because my Mk 1 eyeballs can't pic up irons and targets like they used to anymore. Thinking about getting a nice Kreiger match barrel for it.

All this long range talk has me thinking again about at least a .308. I only have 5.56/300blk/6.5G in rifles. And the 6.5G is neutered with a 12.5” barrel. I need to stop building SBRs. I was looking at a Scar 17 but in sbr format as a long range rifle but they’re not exactly built for precision.

We did have a who can shoot the furthest with pistols last class I went to. I won but they said I cheated since I’m issued a 357SIG and everyone else was 9/40.

My K98, made in June 1940 by JP Sauer & Sohn...

I do have a modern replica of an older design, an Uberti 1873 rifle in .45LC, but that doesn't really count being only 3 years old

Yeah, the old Mk1 eyeball age deterioration issue is why I'm having my Norwegian capture K98 scoped this year, as being converted to 30-06 in the early 1950's it will be better at the longer 600+ yards shoots we do in the UK.
My original Lee-Enfield No.4T sniper rifle obviously has a scope, but the No.4 does start to struggle once you get beyond 700-800 yards.

My eyesight can just about still manage to use battle sights at 100yrds ranges, and once or twice a year I give my Lee-Enfield No.5 an airing at 100 yrds for a bid of 'mad-minute' range fun

Sauer Mauser, premier maker, very nice indeed.
Always loved the L-E mad minute moniker. I'll have to give it a go to see how many I can get off accurately in a min with one of my bolts.
Some fine battle rifles you have there.

I'd like to get into some long distant shooting, but I'm going to have to wait. I think my wife will be pissed if I buy anymore guns too soon.

Oh yeah, my first gun was also a Glock 19. Great weapon.

Just purchased a .300 blackout pistol AR from Americans Resistance Gear. Sweet folding pistol/rifle with a binary trigger. Can fold up and fit in your truck console.

Any of you guys have a binary trigger? I have a SBR AR that is pretty much my meme gun at this point. The only thing it's missing is a binary trigger. I just can't decide if i want one $400 bad.
