Man that's wild and definitely cool. Retro roller skates and long boards have been making a comeback at the beaches recently though!! Instead of roller blades, lots of people are buying roller skates again.

...you pass a kidney stone.

I'm only halfway there at this point. I asked a female relative who's been through it which was more painful: passing the stone, or childbirth. "Passing the stone, no contest." Yay.

You know you're old if this was your First Job...

A paper route... when you road your bike around WITHOUT a helmet, gloves or even shoes. It was a place in time when banana seats and high-top sissy bars were in. Look, no reflector's either...

It's Freaking amazing that we survived all these years without all of the safety gear and I think we turned out pretty damn normal and successful.

Instead of being on their cell phones, or playing video games, and wondering what box to check (Male/Female/Gender Neutral) I'd like to see some of these Snowflakes today get a job when they were 10 and drive their bike around delivering papers and collecting money. Then going to school and coming home to help around house.

You know what? I was gonna be heinous and tell you a story but then thought better of it. I haven't had this and if any of the stories from my friends are any indication? I most certainly would not want to experience it.

Drink LOTS of water through your day. Lots of lemon juice, watch animal proteins and something else I can't remember but the water thing is the most important. More you piss the better.

I need an actual diagnosis first. The pain was so bad I came >< this close to passing out. Did 911 - EMT bus - ER. ER was at capacity and I just wasn't sick enough, so after an hour or so of sitting in the waiting area listening to stories from people who had been there half the day, we left. Hoping Part II doesn't happen until I can get some proper care Monday. And drugs.

My favorite was a long board that my neighbor David and I made when we were 13 or so. It was about 6 feet long and we used wood that bowed in the middle. We had metal skates nailed at both ends. He would ride in front and I would ride in back. We would each put one foot toward the center of the board and press down when we wanted to brake. The board would bow and touch the ground, providing some level of braking. As I remember, we had to bail and jump off anyway if the hill was steep enough. We were crazy.

Paper routes, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, etc. Anything for a few bucks.

Kidney stones suck. Over the past several years I have had four. Three required a trip to ER, the last one I passed without. The worst one wouldnt make the trip and had to be removed in the hospital. Then I had a stint for a week and then went back to have that removed. Trust me, you don't want to hear that part. Flomax helps pass them. They prescribed that everytime along with happy pills.

I didn't have a paper route but I sold papers outside of a market for I think 10 cents each. Don't remember which market but it was in a small shopping center. I was about 10 years old. Did it after school when people were getting off work.

I remember picking up bottles and returning them for the 5-10 cent deposits. A few hours of hunting and it was always good for a couple of dollars, which would buy a lot of candy or a few ice cream cones at the Baskin Robins.

Knock on wood, never had them. Saw a 20-something year old soldier pass out cold from the pain of one, though. Nasty things.
