OK, the way I was taught is you have the patient lie in the decubitus position. Insert your index finger anteriorly to the patient and sweep the prostate feeling for enlargement or nodules. Was this in the manual?

What time of day do you start watching for dui (alcohol) drivers? I was going home after fishing, I think this guy was on the cattle boat that docked before us. He seemed to cover both edges of his lane. It was 1630

When I was with the state, around 1900 hours until about 0400 hours were deuce hunting hours.

So I just read an article about former Seattle Seahawk and current 49er Richard Sherman having been arrested. Long story short, Sherman apparently had a dispute with an in-law at said in-laws' home, but there was no violent act that had actually occurred. However, Sherman was taken into custody for domestic violence.

Excerpt from report:

Sherman has yet to be charged with a crime. Once the prosecutor's office receives the case, he'll be due to appear in court on Thursday afternoon, when a judge will make a determination on probable cause for an arrest and set bail if necessary.

A spokesman for the Redmond Police clarified that Sherman was arrested on suspicion of "domestic violence" because the parties involved are related, not because anyone was injured.

So that's the first time I had heard of pending charges of domestic violence simply because of the relationship of the two parties.

Great post and replies. I have 17 years on as a LEO in Maryland. My agency has quotas but calls them performance objectives. If I have to go to the bathroom (code brown) I do the old siren honk and light flash and go safely through the intersection. I don't hassle the good people with tickets...90 percent warnings. I just want everyone to get to their destination in one piece.

In California we use either 243(e)(1) P.C. or 273.5 P.C to attribute to domestic violence arrests.
