I first looked at an r8 v10, however- there was something "missing" from the car. I'm also not the type to want a car that has "super car looks" (if that makes sense). I enjoy sleepers, frankly because- as much as I hate to admit this, I'm an artist, so I'm moody as hell at times. I recognize- with those type of cars, you have to expect the attention, and if you aren't willing, people come off as a douche. So the m6, built the way I did felt apropos for a starter into the realm of these high performance vehicles.

The new caymans really do look good! Definitely something to look forward to.

And man, I know what you mean about your Lexus. I've considered getting rid of my Yaris for something more spacious (I have a big bulldog and lord knows he's not riding in the m6 once it gets here in the summer) but we'll see. What city of OC are you living in?
nice job. you can't go wrong with a m6. i love them.

i'm in aliso viejo but it's too suburban from what i'm use to so i'm currently shopping around huntington beach and costa mesa right now.

BTW i'm in the water 3 or 4 times a week so it's kind of built up over 40+ years of that.
i made that up.

i go to sd every now and then and look at your water. it's nice.

i was also in la jolla not too long ago and their beach looked rocky and had a dead body smell to it. it might have just been the day. the restaurant in the beach house made me drink a lot.

bobble, can you point me to your favorite beach location so i can look at it?

First i live in OC but was raised in SD, I personally like several of the areas in South La Jolla North PB Nautilus, Big rock, Bird Rock area if down there but those are mainly surf spots not much for swimming but the landscape ocean is pretty. South SD OB along the cliffs is a blast but again a surf spot not much swimming. IB is nice but that's spitting distance from TJ and have not been there in years, wonder what the conditions are now. From there North to Encinitas area and moonlight beach good family beach, life guards amenities, I like Swamis in Carlsbad as well walking distance to cafes and such, there's Trestles right at the OC/SD Pendleton border. I actually do like Salt Creek and Aliso Creek for general beach and hanging out with family. Newport too crowded, The wedge is a blast to watch, I don't go out there too old too fat and out of shape to fight that surf. Skip DP water sucks I only go out there on the Jet Skis to cruise around. From there I like Santa Barbara/Channel Islands State park, Refugio and El Capitan are nice to camp but with the spill I assume that are FU'd up for a long while. Anywhere on Central Coast from Pismo all the way to Carmel is really nice scenery, not much surf, water is colder but is beautiful. Santa Cruz is fun but crowded good people watching, winter big wave stuff is crazy. Same along Sonoma and Mendocino coast just gorgeous. Eureka/Humboldt is a blast in winter, big ocean and shows the beauty of it. There's a light house, can't remember the name up there that's just beautiful can see forever. That covers my opinionated tour of Cali beaches, I'm sure many will disagree and like some LA beaches but honestly LA is for driving thru IMO.

Where in La Jolla where you, smell could have been a red tide situation, when that blooms it stinks and you cant get that smell out of your gear easily.

Downtown Long beach is awesome. Friendly, laid back, everything you'd expect from a beach city. There are a lot of sketchy areas, like if you take pine Ave up to 10th street/wrigley area/north long beach though.

I don't go to the beach unless Im running though...so as far as beach quality- no idea. I would say they're not that much worse than OC- but I honestly don't go in, so can't help you there :
Agree with everything you said about LB...I do go to Seal Beach quite a bit to hang out/walk on the beach though.
I love everything about LB. it's the closest thing that reminds me of Seattle with the exception of the beautiful weather (usually)

I can go running at 3 am down the walk path and feel safe, same with downtown as long as I keep to ocean blvd. the people are very courteous and honestly, even though I work a lot in Hollywood/la I'd rather commute than live there. The 20 miles makes a difference of the type of people.

damn, you know your shit! not being from here i've never heard of a lot of those places. i might make a road map out of it and start hitting them all. except the one that borders mexico.

i think it was the cove. i just looked it up on the map and i believe we ate at the Brockton Villa Restaurant.

i agree with your thoughts on LA. it might have been okay when i was younger but that just doesn't appeal to me these days. i don't enjoy driving there so i try to avoid it. sometimes i'll even fly sna (john wayne airport) to sfo just to avoid driving to lax.

You skipped right over the Ventura county beaches. I've been in the Nard for all but 2 years. Strand is by far the best combo beach with nice sand, babes to check out, and several beach breaks all within a mile stretch. Locals can be tough though.

Ventura has the pier/promenade with some nice dining. That drive north on 101 between Ventura and SB at sunset is epic

i drove there and enjoyed it. didn't get to spend much time there though as it was getting dark and i was doing a drive along the 1 from laguna beach to sf. one of my favorite drives since moving here. i esp like the old lamps along the way.

next time i'll check it out for sure.

I hear Chicago is an amazing place to live 3 months out of the year, haha.

Vancouver/Richmond for about 4-5 months out the year and the rest in Hong Kong. Getting to about half half as time goes on. Why ask?

He probably means that living in Richmond and saying you live in Hong Kong are the same thing.

Just curious
Went to visit my wife's family in Vancouver this past summer. We stayed in Richmond and I really enjoyed it.

Kowloon or HK Island? I love HK. If I was near retirement, my goal would be to share my time between HK and the US.

haha that's funny. Though Richmond is quite heavily populated with Canto or other Chinese, it pales in comparison. No. 3 road is not quite on par with the MTR, haha

NT side, closer to China borders. If I had the choice, it'd be between Canada and the US and sprinkle a little Europe in once in a while. Not really a fan of HK.

amazing for a weekend or a week maybe. even those three months being spring, summer or fall, they are likely rainy, or humid.

it's fantastic city with crazy diversity and you can get anything you want at any hour. it's just a matter of going outside to get it and if outside is favorable at the time. i moved purely based on weather.

i hate to insult anyone but i have to agree.

i've been to many places in asia and hk is my least favorite. again, not to insult but i found it dirt and the people down right rude.

philippines were the nicest people so far and thailand had the most epic buddhist stuff. haha
