For me this isn't about available products. I can't even find an available time-slot for any grocery pickup (or delivery) from any grocery store anyplace close to me. I've tried all the store brands, and scoured the entire delivery radius. Every time slot is listed as not available.
Now Whole Foods workers are allegedly striking until they get better pay (they want double); and Amazon workers are threatening to strike too. The shit is going to really hit the fan if this trend comes to fruition.

Maybe not double pay, but they should certainly get some kind of hazardous duty pop. I thank the store employees every time I shop these days, which admittedly is not often. They're exposing themselves to dozens or hundreds of strangers every day on the job. Heroes.

I believe they are performing an important service and should be treated well, including safety measures, but doubling pay seems extreme. This is not a job that requires specialized skills or training and a lot of people are gonna be looking for jobs soon so...

Somewhere between $2/hour and doubling their pay is a reasonable temporary solution.

Personally, I think letting the market decide is the reasonable permanent solution. If someone feels their compensation isn't enough, they are free to quit. If there's not enough people to fill the positions, then Whole Foods will need to increase the compensation to fill the positions.

Yeah, NOT an option here in NOLA! We basically have all packages redirected to the local Fedex or UPS location... way too many porch pirates around here to just leave packages outside.

We bring deliveries into the garage and let them sit.
I went to the local supermarket tonight and was perplexed at the shortages. I needed bananas and almond milk and neither were to be found aside from 79 cent a piece organic bananas (all loose) and super sweet chocolate almond milk. Are people hoarding smoothie fixins? Why no bananas or almond milk?

It is funny to see the stange items that are hard to find. I always make my sandwiches with rye bread, haven't seen a loaf of rye bread in weeks. Can't image who is buying it all or the baker has shifted production to something that sells better. Either way I miss my rye bread!

Aldi had all of our groceries today, only thing missing is cleaning and paper products. My parents were able to get (2) 12 packs of tp today at Kroger during the old folks hours, so they gave a us a pack. Good for another month or two.
