For a long time i used to make a distinction between the wife being friends with single guys vs married guys. I wasn't thrilled about her being pals with single guys. There's only one female i'm friends with where we've both questioned our self control abilities, but once that was realized, we decided to keep a bit more distance between us while still remaining friends. Still friends, still benefiting from that friendship.

Pretty much this... If it's going to happen, it's going to happen... No amount of control or demands is going to prevent it... If anything, that will make it more likely a partner will stray... I find it more interesting the differences between why MOST (keyword here being most) men vs women stray...

When I was single, I had a few of them. Text messages form either side would be 'wanna bang'? Then it would happen. Unless you don't like sex, every single person needs a jump off to relieve stress and to just have fun. When I met my wife, I had to end 3 of them. It was kinda 'hard' but had to do it.

Eh. My experience wasn't as pleasant. I tried this twice and the shit storm that landed on me was epic. Both of the guys were banking on me getting an emotional connection to them and us soon being a real couple.

On the topic of girls and guys being friends thing, I think in most cases it's a bad idea. My wife is friends with a guy whom I have full confidence she has no attraction to. At the same time, I would probably take issue if there were multiple guys, or guys that came into the picture after me. Generally, I think it's just tempting fate. We have mutual female friends and I try to take care to prevent any situation arising that may bring about temptation.

And now a question for the ladies-

Does a a guy being a 'car guy' make him more attractive to you? And how about to the average female? For instance, how much does that M3 impress the normal gal?

I wouldn't date a car guy. Jeez they are a bunch of ladies who don't even like driving. And for fucks sake the noises they make if you do something remotely stupidish.

If the female knows what an M3 is, she probably has studied the BMW site to estimate your worth. I don't know a woman who knows how many cylinders they have in theirs.

I quite enjoy being able to talk to someone about cars, but it's not going to make someone any more attractive on its own.

Huh. Big difference between how car guys and ladies see one another then. Idk know about everyone else, but a female that's into cars is a big deal, and I would def say makes them more attractive.

I'd think that's because a genuine female car fan is much more rare. Car guys are a dime a dozen, and frequently err on the side of douchetastic.

To be fair, I don't for example qualify as one. I know the basics, and I can perform the easy fixes but I'm more into the miles than the mechanics.

Attraction comes from within. The outside stuff is cool and all, but not a priority.

I'm in a similar boat, but I'd still say we count. I think the average would be more of a "ooh wow I love Ferraris because they're pretty and they go fast." I could be wrong about that, though.
