That model actually won a few rallies in Finland (Thousand Lakes) and 2 times Tour De Europe. My first father in law was the lead engine mechanic on that team. The car was made in Moscow at the factory that USSR brought from Germany as reparations after WWII. The original motor was 4 cyl @72HP. Rally tuned was up to 160HP with a lot of German components (pistons, rings, carburetors).

Neither. While it's a photoshopped image, the car is Moskvitch 2140. Never drove that one, but drove models 403, 408, 412 when I was a kid. We had a driving school for kids where you could drive at 12 years old with instructor. And before you drive, you had to learn the theory of car operation in pretty good detail plus traffic regulations. Those regulations were not a joke at all.
