I'd agree that HK is my least favorite place also. Its a horrible place to raise a family and everyone is just chasing something ALL THE TIME! I question why I'm still living here...oh yah my business is here... and money is something very hard to deny.

I'd agree everyone has blinkers [edit: blinders] on.. makes you wonder why they are alive. But that's every big city for you. On the other end is boredom though.

I love boredom ie. camping, snowboarding, quality pick up basketball, golf, track events, fishing, biking, beaching, weed, roadtrips, and friends that aren't talking about money or money related things 24/7.

Been to Chicago several times and I do agree that it kinda licks. Probably not the best place as an opposite comparison to HK.

I love that you have to travel everywhere to get something in HK. When I am in my 60s, I'd look forward to having to walk to the market, walk here, walk there. In HK, I see so many elder people walking around from point A to point B.

In Orange County, I even find myself driving around to find a closer parking space.

I doubt I would want to live in HK for years at a time. That's why I originally stated living in Orange County half the year and HK the other half. I'd be able to go back and forth. When I want good weather, I come back to the OC. When I want access to great food with great people watching, I go to HK. From HK, Tokyo and other cities is like a 2-3 hour flight.

I don't mind people always being in a rush. I personally love people watching so I'd be able to sit in the MTR station and just watch people pass by.

Rude people? Go to Australian Dairy Co. in Jordan and talk about "rude"! Haha
I actually enjoy this attitude of their waiters as I know they have to serve thousands of people each day in such a short amount of time. I see it as their way of life and don't judge them on American standards.

I don't know. The link was dead. But there is ongoing controversy in Richmond about too many store signs being in Chinese only.

Late 80's was probably the best time to be in Van. Things were still cheap and the entire city wasn't played out. I can't believe you didn't enjoy your stay in the 80's lol.

How does a guy that lives in HK complain about too many Chinese people in other places? You know which place has a lot more Chinese people?

I hate it when I let a friend borrow my toothpaste and they squeeze the middle of the tube rather than the bottom

HA. HA.

But sadly, no. Not for another couple days or week (max I've seen is 3) whenever the next ship out to the west coast comes.

I already know how I'm getting back at you and nkc, just you wait!!!

Ventura has the pier/promenade with some nice dining. That drive north on 101 between Ventura and SB at sunset is epic
Valid point in my geographic blunder but when driving north from LA I mentioned Channel Islands which is technically Oxnard/Ventura is it not? Locals not a problem, I grew up in the north PB/south La Jolla surf culture where not being a local meant getting an ass kicking which occurred more often than I care to admit.
In my youth when I went up that way for excursions we usually waited until Rincon or the Ranch to go out probably as I had a fixation with beaches immortalized in Beach Boys songs and frankly, no offense to valley people, was far enough from said valley to avoid those kooks.
Nowadays the closest I get to real surfing is the waves created in my pool from my fat ass getting in.

To me Vancouver island was a bit odd, wifey's mom lived in Campbell River and people there had a distinct issue with Vancouver proper(Van-Richmond-Victoria). Odd thing to me is Canada's history of being favorable to immigration and the fact that the circle they ran in where all German immigrants after WWII just seemed hypocritical. What's your guys take on that issue, my perception or truth? Been awhile since I was there(@10 years).

LOL thanks!

Ps BMW should really have some sort of "express delivery" option like this.

I'd pay whatever the cost is to fly it over.

I thought only billionaires and Racecar companies were only people who have enough funds to do that.

Thanks for the picture.
