I rotate my edcs. I train regularly with my guns and can switch from gun to gun without issues.
My duty weapon is a gen4 Glock 31. My off duty carry guns are varied. Glock 32, Glock 33, Glock 45, Glock 43X, Glock 19, HK VP9, HK USPC357, HK P2000 357, HK 45CT, STI Staccato P, STI Staccato C2, SIG P365. Bedside guns are suppressed Beretta 92F and Glock 21. a gun is a gun. I actually prefer the paddle releases of the HKs. I'm trying to source an HK VP40 now and a 357 barrel. |

I disagree with only training with one gun. Imo that prevents you from being proficient. While i understand what youre trying to say i would rather be familiar with multiple kinds of weapons and as i previously stated. Carrying one gun may not be practical for the situation. A full size 1911 would prevent me from comfortably carrying a gun if say im at the beach. Where as my J frame i can slip in my pocket of a pair of gym shorts and no one would know a thing. I wouldnt even need a shirt.
Most semi auto release the mag in a very similar fashion so i wouldnt be fumbling around. I only use the safety on my 1911 not on any of my other guns. So i do train with that aspect. I also acknowledge that i’m not a cop and not likely to be in a combat zone so the thought of having to do a mag change is pretty unlikely given the multitude of self defense cases only requiring a couple shots.

I love my P938 and it's comfortable with my Crossbreed MiniTuck IWB holster. However I should try a pocket holster. I have from when I had a Kahr PM40 which I hated.

I really like this style appendix holster, thus wanting a smaller gun. |

I'm much more handy with my carry Glock 43 than any of the "fun range guns". I am a-ok with that. In your case it was the opposite and you noticed and I assume fixed the situation. |

I love mine. For the price there isnt a better gun out there. Now it isnt a perfect gun. The trigger leaves some to be desired however it isnt the worst in the world. You can definitely get used to it and be very accurate. It just has long travel and breaks at the very end. It also doesnt feed ballistic tip rounds such as hornady critical duty very well they stick in the metal mags. Not a problem for me as i carry HST or gold dots
Otherwise it feels great in my hand. Shoots very well. Very little recoil. Easy to conceal. Absolutely reliable except for the above mentioned. High capacity in a gun not much bigger than a shield. Very nice grip almost as if it was stippled from the factory. Not much as far as aftermarket but with the exception of sights i normally leave my guns alone. I would buy another one and i would recommend it to a friend looking for a low cost semi auto that they could carry or keep bedside

I definitely need to buy another gun. Wouldn’t mind picking up a 12 ga and a Remington 700, probably in .308.

I see your problem, had you considered to put this into you back so that its located above your bum and well covered with clothes? That makes seating into a car or onto chairs rearwise a bit unconformtable, but it definitely prevents you from this. It requires also a bit more training to get the gun quickly if needed.

I'll look into some of those type of holsters and hopefully try one on, but I dunno, I really like the idea of it being located anteriorly for some reason. I can't really explain why, but in theory, it just seems like more of a natural 'grab' if something were to arise. |

to each their own - yada yada -
BUT....... I'm highly against behind-the-back carry....... for a variety of reasons... Safety being one.... if you fall, trip, or sit too fast, etc... Now you've just dislocated or shattered a vertebra - no thanks. I'm not a fan of anything (especially of this nature) being behind my peripheral sightline... for sure not behind my back where I can't see any part it. What if somebody happened to see something, you bent over or reached up without thinking and it was seen... now someone has complete element of surprise to try to take it from you... or their buddy... etc. Fast draw or at minimum natural motion draw = FTW! If I had the frame for it, I'd carry apendix... I've got too much cushion there for any amount of comfort in that position.... so I'm a strong side kinda guy.... but that's by design, not by choice. I believe that's the easiest and most formidable draw stroke, and if you're resting your fingers into the top of your front pocket, you're 3/4 way to the grip without causing any undue notice in a totally natural appearance. YMMV of course. |

Same thing i do with my 30-06 and 308. I use them for different hunts, and i dont want to be able to shoot the 30-06 well and be using the 308 and miss when you may only get a couple shots off. as for my pistols and ARs, they all have different sights and scopes so its really not hard to go from one to the other. and the AR platform is pretty plug and play, especially when youre building from the same lowers.

I started my "force myself to carry each day" project with small of the back. The amount of times I had to adjust or remove it to sit comfortably, or to not "clack" on a wooden/metal chair, drive any real distance made me explore appendix carry. Now, after a few holsters, I have found I love it and this is all I do. Only took about 2 weeks to get completely comfortable with it and the time I accidentally drove 3 hours with it in place without realizing it - I knew I found my spot. Has all the advantages you described as well. Harder for someone to get away from me. I'm not checking my shirt tail 27 times a minute to make sure it is covered. etc. But I have lost enough weight over the years to make this an option - I could understand where it would not be for all people. Mine carry gun goes on top of my wallet in the drawer each night and back on my belt each morning with my wallet into my pocket. I will also say - a good carry belt helps a LOT too. I was given a KORE EDC belt for my birthday. I thought it would be too heavy to wear each day, but I fit it anyway and wore it once and have worn nothing else since. Have a lot of stiffness and will not sag at all. Perfect carry belt and great normal belt as well.
