But, I don't see why not. It just depends on your tolerance for risk in an expensive vehicle. They're very capable vehicles. To get to the spot in the photo, my RF wheel was in the air for a bit (nothing severe, just roadside drainage), and the vehicle had no problem figuring out what to do, presuming I pointed it in the right direction.
Yes but you have the prior gen. This new one has a lot of body work that looks much lower to the ground.

A proper hood shut line, and a painted divider between the kidneys? Damn, this design is more BMW than most of the recent cars

lol it’s a bit like ‘Emperors New Clothes” reading the chatter lol. The little boy shouts, wait it’s pig ugly lol. 😜

I also love how BMW charge hundreds for a “Luxury” dash covering made from recycled polyester.

It's good to see all of those leisure suits from the 1970's being repurposed as dash material.

i wiuld never offroad in an x3... ground clearance is far too low in any version

I think it needs some bigger wheels and it would look a lot better.

I don’t like how basic wheel arches have become. I liked the fender flares on the old SUVs. It looks like a cost saving measure which I would expect from some of the Japanese brands.

I like the fresh look, I’m wondering how will x3m be different in terms of power

It will definitely be hybrid, I hope it won’t add 2 tons of weight like on the new m5

Here’s our old X3. Not off-roading in the same category as a Jeep … but comfortable taking on some trails and exploring. These new X3’s may have the same ground clearance but bigger wheels and lower aero panels … point is this is an asphalt crossover & has lost that rugged nature of the moniker.

At least the moonroof on X5 will open up

We lease it here, pretty sure the new x3 m50i will come fairly close in payments with the x5 x40i we’re picking up this week with m sport pkg. Made a little more sense to us. I’m sure these will look much better in person as the newer BMWs have been.

Why couldn't they just keep and update the "angel eyes"...similar to the pre-LCI G80 Laser lights design, or current X5 design?

Also, the M2 grille is small, nice, traditional, X3 is a giant like 7er or those new SUVs (lost track of naming) and then you have the iX and M3/M4 and 4er stuff that is like nothing else in the family... WHY?
All I see in the headlights is massive cost cutting they went down to one projector which looks bad. They didn’t same thing with the LCI G80s. They removed a projector and left a false eye in the other side. It looks so bad. Par for the course with BMW these days. Charge more for less plus get ugly designs on top of that.

It’s an SUV. They all pretty much look the same to me. I do like the front end a lot. It running iDrive 9, which is the only downside I see. I like the light bars inside. If it has the storage you need for ski trips, then go for it. I got rid of my SUV when I had to stop skiing.

Not sure how I feel about the wheels. There's too much dead space between the spokes

If the design strategy of BMW is to force clients to buy more X5’s they will succeed as everything else in their range is becoming increasingly ugly.

Cost cutting is the name of the game these days at BMW. Grab an X5 before it spreads !

The back end is too blobby and makes it look a large Golf 🤨
