Of course the difference between brands fade. The famous USP of BMW is now available to everybody. 50/50, low center of gravity, difficult to reproduce driveline excellence.

Having said this, I still have to drive another brand EV that eclipses my i4 in daily driving experience (dynamics/composure) and doesn't cost twice as much (Taycan).

Hmm I actually quite like it! (which is becoming rarer for me with BMW's newer models).. Now let's just hope the rear isn't f'd up.

I like it. It’s instantly recognizable as a BMW, and it’s certainly less polarizing than other recent designs.

Looks quite bland, but that's arguably better than the puke fest coming out of the XM and iX production lines.

One could endlessly comment on something new, less than likable for some reason, or just comment.

BMW is in the business of selling cars and making money while competition is trying to do the same. Competition is both good and necessary for us - consumers, fans, and drivers.

Looking forward to the sales statistics when available.

Looks like the sale of Lincoln by Ford to BMW is closer than we thought.

It’ll be interesting to see it in 3-D form

The new BMWs really need to be seen in person to be appreciated. But honestly I dig this design even with this rendered photo.

The front end styling looses that BMW impact. I hope that’s not what they envision as the ‘new class’ language going forward.

It’s still got a smidge of the Hoffmeister kink so I’ll give it that but otherwise - these young/polluted designers are so detached from what made the original ‘new class’ successful.

BMW just can’t seem to find that secret sauce they lost after the late 90’s.

They are trying to blend in and appease the market while keeping their identity unique. Not easy of course, but they better try harder - the current designs are almost a disgrace to the brand.

I quite like it. Seems there are some design queues from the IX and it also reminds me of the X1 as well.

Basically an appliance like a smart fridge. BMW one will put in an order at Whole Foods for organic food for you as a customer experience vs local supermarket. The ///M model will deliver it faster with more grip to hold down the groceries from tossed around.

Or maybe this old/purist Internet commenters are so detached from reality that they think the original ‘new class’ would be successful in 2023?
