Until there are MORE posted timeslips with stock 335is that are lower than 13.2, the facts are simply that it is a drivers race. Actually, fwiw, the two fastest stock 335i on dragtimes is 13.2 but the fastest with street tires is 13.4 which is slower than the three fastest street tired 350Z on the other website. So, from a DIG for a 1/4 mile, stock vs. stock. If I were a betting man, I'd actually bet the 07 350Z would win. Funny thing is that on dragtimes, there are no posted 07 350z's so maybe there are some good 335i stock times not posted? Anybody with the 335i beat 13.4 with street tires and all stock?
Are you kidding me? I had a 04 350z with the APS twin turbo kit installed on my car wiu a built motor costng me nearly 25k modifications putting out no where near the numbers you are claiming for 7k. Do some research before you open your mouth.

I used to work at a Nissan dealership. I knew all the mechanics very well. 350s are very reliable. Not EVERY car off the production line is flawless(as with ANY car). The door rattling thing was mainly in the 1st few years of the Z production. That problem has now been fixed with the more current models.

And yes, fuck people it's a Nissan. Take it for what it is and don't judge it based on your predisposition for favoring luxury cars or German cars.

For the people that can only afford 350s and that's the best they can do, it's an awesome car.

btw, my mom's ex boyfriend (who we're still good friends with fortunately...more on why that's a good thing in just a bit) has a facelifted 350Z in that dark silver with whatever the high end trim is. Love the wheels and the powerbulge, and the steering is great, but the car sounds like a coffee grinder on the inside imo, and the straightline performance is good, great even, but not what my butt dyno says is on par with the 335i. That's just me though.

Anyways, he's a Nissan nut, and only just recently sold one of 2 300Z's. One was a 300ZX. He traded the 300ZX in for the 350Z. He's going to trade the 300Z for the new GT-R. He's sixth in line for one at the dealer! omfg can't wait to drive it. He said he was gonna let me lol. He actually let me drive his 350Z for 120 miles the day he got it! Talk about trying to score brownie points with my mom lol. Hopefully I get to do the same with the GT-R. If I do I'll be sure to get an assload of pics and tell everyone my opinion on it.

He was gonna put a blower on the 350Z but then decided that that's what the GT-R's for. He also drives a 7 lol...but it's an ugly one...pre-facelift 745i in a weird brown color. He hates it. So do I.

There is no amount of money that would make a civic faster than a supercar... I used to own one (a civic that is)

I wish the G35 and Lexus trolls would just go back to their own boards. Nobody cares about you opinions here.
Most of these losers have never even driven a 335, but they are here to talk shit.

Guys both the 350z and the 335i coupe are great cars. Both post the same 0-60mp/h. Aussie magazines have them at 5.7 seconds. So stop arguing they are just as quick as each other. Some days the z might be faster, sometimes the 335i, just depends on lots of things, so put your testosterone away and be good boys.
As for quality, please BMW guys don't go there, cause BMW in Australia only offers a 2 year warranty, compared to other manufacturers that offer much better warranty. You could interpret this as lack of confidence in their product holding up to long term use. Of course, then again a long warranty means nothing if the driver is abusive on the car.

So there you go, both are quick and both are good cars.

I agree with you about the Z. I've been in a 07 350z and it's a quick car, no doubt. I think stock for stock, it would be a drivers race.

I will try to race my friends stock 07 350z with my 335 in stock mode. we'll get it on camera. Should be interesting.

I drove an IS350 for quite a bit and it's a quick car fro a stop, but it felt like after 70-80mph it lost most of its power. And the handling was good at average speeds, but once you start pushing the car to the limits....it felt really unstable and stressed out. Also, didn't like the way the breaks felt. Very mechanical. No feel. No soul.

I wondered why he said that as well. Looking at all the turbo kits for the VQ engine, I've been thinking about getting a 350z as a second car, they boost the numbers to the high 300's low 400hp range. Talking with BoostedG35, he stated that anything above 400whp, the engine needs work to be able to handle more power. 7k? Wishful thinking.

Handling trumps the 335i and it will be a more thrilling ride. However, if you are into straightline performance and comfort then 335i is the winner.

The 350Z only has a 3 year warrenty... http://www.nissan.com.au/z/msummary_coupeTouring.asp

Well we get a full 4 year / 50,000 mile warrenty here. They pay for all maintenance needed in that time as well. The only company here that I know of that does that... does that mean they have the highest quality? (The correct answer is no. My civic was built better )

Hey Hawk, bmw now has a 3 year warranty in Aus, due to doubt to other car manufacturers forcing bmw into extending their warranty.
The public has something called perception lag......think about this.
