Just my opinion.

Not judging those that do it, but you will never find shots in my portfolio that use such techniques. If there are rolling shots in there (there are, though not many) they were shot out of the window of another vehicle.

Comes down to personal style and choices.

I feel the same way about photoshopping in a badass sky to replace a bland one, or an entirely different background altogether, etc.
Car to car is used a lot for front and rear shots but not as much for side shots. That demands a rig which is expensive and hard to use. My friends work for the biggest manufacturers so this is how the business works now.

(I may not agree with some of the ideas on principle, such as adding motion blur where there was none to begin with, but that's largely irrelevant... although, it does point to why someone such as myself wouldn't want to hand out a RAW photo to another individual to edit. After a while we all tend to develop a personal style not only in how we shoot, but also in how we post process, and it becomes part of our overall artist style, something that is tangible and recognizable by others.)
I think that it's very interesting how many (most?) of us develop a recognizable style after a while. Even those of us that seek to be "realistic" will tend to be recognizable style. It's the combination of crop, contrast, saturation, etc. that becomes a "signature".

Five to ten of my people that I "Follow" on Flickr have such a style that I see it on a page of 60-images. I know it's Patricia, or Corey, or Jacques, etc. All of these people are nature photographers that lean toward the "real", but I still see their images jumping off the page when I look at a large collection.

If you want a specific photo or object, I wouldn't mind shooting some stuff for you. Even a theme... It'd give me a reason to get out and shoot stuff, just if you want to give me a challenge you can send me that link to drop box and I'll get it done. You can have all the raws you want.

I usually try to clean the image up a bit more than you did. The less distracting objects in the image the better (in my opinion). People might not thing they are distracting now but it will give it a cleaner look.

So I would clone out the circled areas too. As for the original image it would have been better to place the car parallel to the shadow to create more symmetry and lines in the image.

Awesome! Not looking for anything specific to be honest. All I ask for is that you don't crop too tight so I can have some background to work with.

Thanks for the feedback! Those circled spots really are distracting now that you've mentioned them lol.

It's kind of a natural thing. When you first look at a photo, try to notice what is the first thing your eye is drawn to? Is it the background or the foreground? Does it take away from the pictured subject? Does it hinder your view? Those are the things to look for.

Nice edits. I know a few wedding photographers that farm out all their editing to third parties. It makes sense for them, they shoot thousands of photos on a given weekend, and personally going over them would be a Herculean task.

The editing houses seem to be pretty good at maintaining the photographer's editing "style"

You interested in editing non-car shots?

What type of processing are you doing to get that almost light sepia color to the image?

See if this works for you. I know you are just looking for files to hone your skills.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/n91d83jfr4wy1lr/DSC_8173.nef?dl=0

I don't have much in the way of Raw Files where I can get to them remotely but had this one sitting on Dropbox. Hopefully you can access it from the link.
