Three amazing cars, and if this is specifically and only "for the track" then I guess, awesome, the Viper is bad ass and has the cooler name. But come on, no way in hell you'd catch me reasonably driving the Viper around town. I can take the ZO6 and the GT3 RS to dinner and walk out like James Bond as I throw the valet the keys, in the Viper you will forever look like a trying to hard "Dom" in F&F 13.

GT3 RS please.

Not an apples to apples comparison since you're comparing one set of times done by randy pobst then comparing to a time where dodge went out with a factory driver. Porsche could send a team out like dodge did and probably run even faster...and set yet again a new record.

Actually, Dodge used Randy Pobst to set that record time.

But it was still a factory effort.

Yea, all the times are done by Randy Pobst. The one in this head to head epi, and on the world record. At the end it is clear that the is one awesome viper to track for its price.

ACR is such a beast!

And fk, Porsche fan boys just don't quit. A 120k Viper with 640hp beat a million dollar 918.. Get over it!

And completely embarrassed a GT3RS

Understand that but this was a factory effort where dodge went out and was set on this.

Fact remains, if porsche did the same thing it would crush the ACR in a similar effort.

Didn't Porsche and McLaren both send out a factory team when the times were set?

"Fact remains" haha the only fact that remains is that the ACR has been embarrassing everything around a track.

I highly doubt that. Even the C6z06 was faster than the 997 Cup car. You can do 1 lap in the 918 then you loose the battery power on track. I am willing to bet both my porsches that the ACR would handily beat the 918 in a 10-15lap race. Same time the c7 z06 would probably overheat.

The battery recharges on braking so it can be used more than just once, however the charge state varies depending on the kers system.
Don't worry the ACR will be crushed once the new GT2 RS comes out though as that will be an even fight given the ACR has 145 more hp than a GT3RS and uses an even stickier tire iirc.

Pity it will cost 2x more. At least you're coming around to the GT3 not being as capable as the ACR.

First good video and all are great cars and I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I would prefer something besides the ACR and if I had the money it would probably be the GT3 RS.

Go to 17:20 - Their opinions on the ACR include - "torture device, seated crooked, hot, deafening, miserable, terrible car, fastest most dedicated track car"

Yes, it will recharge on a nice long canyon drive but not on track. Local 918 drops 1.5-2s of laptimes on its 3 lap! Future cars are, well in the future, so you never know. We not even have a GT2 right now.
Porsches are- in general - fun cars on the track but not very fast. I like their GT cars, but also see their problems.

Not very fast??

A 500 hp GT3 RS crushed the viper TA which weighs barely more and has a 140 hp advantage. No car American or European with the same hp would come close to matching. Given their small hp they are very fast by any comparison. 7:20 on the ring for 500 hp is right there with most cars with 150-200 more hp.
Or maybe the fact that a Cayman GT4 is faster on Laguna seca than a c6 zr1 or c7 stingray by a large margin?
Again, not another car faster for the hp.

Given that the ACR is 6MT, I probably would. I'd just remove the park bench from the trunk. That turbo'd 488 is straight butter though.

LOVE IT. I've been a Viper fan forever, I still cannot understand why I don't see more of them on the road around here when Z06s and overpriced P-cars are everywhere out the whazoo. LOVE IT.

I probably wouldn't.. It would depend on what other cars I already own.

The ACR is more attainable so I wouldn't mind getting into an ACR for a couple years until 488 prices drop a bit.

I think reality is virtually everyone is headed to work or running errands and not trying to hit the best lap time and the viper is pretty poor for how most people use their cars.
