Garage List
My XF feels a lot sportier, louder and luxurious than my friend's naturally aspirated F10 530i from the same year. Truly surprised to see 3 series owners negatively commenting about the Jag XE's interior considering the current 3er probably has the most tacky and cheap-looking plastic interior of any luxury car on sale today.

Go for the XE! The Jag has the best looks in its class along with one of the best sounding V6 engines on the market, and the steering and handling are also next to none.

I recently got to drive the new XE -- the 4-cylinder and the 6-cylinder. Jaguar has definitely come a long way. The 4-cylinder felt underpowered. I enjoyed the 6-cylinder. It was no race car but definitely a fun ride -- for a Jag. The XE comes with 5 years/60,000 miles of FREE maintenance and the warranty is equally as long. The XE is priced lower than BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and Audi. Jaguar definitely came to play. If it were just a little more sporty, I would be very interested.

The JAG 4 cylinder turbo is punchy and is actually a Ford turbo 4. The V6 is the engine from the lowest model F-type.
I too saw it at the NY car show and at the dealers on day 1.. not impressed with the plasticy looking interior at all.

I was about to buy a Jag XE but came to my senses and took the 340i mSport instead.
The only thing XE has over 340i is the supercharger(really a tradeoff between economy & instant power), exhaust note (like a built-in dinan), and suspension (handling).

I was enamoured at first with the looks then realized its just the fancy of it being new.
IMO Ian Callum took the Jag's front lines from BMW Msport

I took the 340i mainly for the awesome i6.. the JAG V6 is powerful but the i6 is underrated (as usual) & has better low end torque and with a few tunes the B58 blows away JAG even with its no turbo lag supercharger (I do like to hear the supercharger whine tho)

The exhaust note can be neutralized via aftermarket.. more mods and aftermarket obviously for the bimmer as well.

340i interior build and overall build is better than XE as well

BMW nav & HUD are much better .. much much better.

Reliability will be another advantage for BMW

BTW the low-end JAGXE is priced lower than the comparable 3.. but if you load it up alil more you will see the BMW is actually cheaper and JAG is giving very little incentives almost selling at MSRP

Maybe. Jag is out playing hard. It will be nice to see where they go with it.

Either way, wouldn't buy a first year car unless it was truly special.

The 5 year warranty and maintenance plus Jaguar pick-up concierge service helps with concerns about reliability. Also, the XE has been out for about a year in the UK, so those buyers dealt with working all the first-year kinks out.

5YR/60,000 was tempting
Maybe in 3-4 years when it settles down I'll consider taking a risk on Jag quality
not that the 335 didnt have its troubles.. B58 so far so good it seems

Does anyone know if the XE exhaust has a sport function or an exhaust upgrade similar to the MPE? The v6 exhaust sound of the F-type is pretty bad ass for being stock.

If you covered the badge on the steering wheel and had me guess what kind of car it was just by the interior, I'd of guessed it was from some non-luxury automaker and that the car was around 10 years old.
