I cant really get down with mercedes-benz. They have great luxury esp. the S-class but i dont like AMG. They have enormous price tags, and no manual transmission.

Even in the new M5 with the new SMG trans., people still prefer the old M5 bc it has a reg. 6-speed manual transmission.

Guess what it comes down to for me is if I had enough money for either of those cars I still wouldn't buy them.

That's a minority of current BMW owners who have the connections to make their voices heard(duh).

And yes, the manual tranny IS being phased out, gradually.

See, this is where I have to be something I dont want to; You REALLY REALLY have no idea what words are coming out your fingers(or your brian, mouth, wherever).... There is a solid reason why Daimler comes before Chrysler. Daimler Benz bought Chrysler. Period. It's one thing if you hate the cars, which is fine by me. No hardcore car nut would ever let something like this go w/ out correction.

Daimler Benz SAVED Chrysler. Thanks to the Germans we even have a muscle car revival, because afterall, it was Chrysler who started it.

:finger:

I think you have been doing a little too much of this. or maybe this Believe what you will, but I do not foresee an SMG or DSG type trans being offered anytime in the near furture in a $12,000-$20,000 automobile. The manual trans is not going anywhere for many, many years to come.

I grant up by the time this 'supposedly' happens I will be well into the age that I will want a wankermatic and could careless if a manual trans is offered.

Haha, you'd take it that personally as to throw a personal insult my way. You've got real class kid, a wonder you drive a BMW and Benz.

E90-4life wasn't around for the 70s. Hell, he was only 4 years old in 1990.

Nothing taken personal. Weren't you ever taught to your elders?
