Sure have, but probably half the population that actually owned one is dead now. There's a reason why Cadillacs aren't running around today with Deville and Seville nameplates anymore. Wagoneer may have a small cult following, but it ain't with the generation that's buying these kind of vehicles. Anyway, I guess only time will tell. I just think they could have either cashed in on the popular Cherokee name, or come up with something new and unique.
I mean, I'm youngish and like wagoneers.

One of the reviewer stayed it is to not have any leather but a sustainable fabric?? I am a Jeep fan still having one in the fleet but Jeep has lost their mind at anything north of $75k loaded. It is aimed at Lincoln for sure. I just don’t get any strong Jeep identity with the design. Looks cheap to me and knowing FCA, the materials used will be mid grade at best. I owned a Grand Wagoneer in its day and it was a truck with a cab. It’s a different world now and other than name has no dna of a Wagoneer in it. Jeep is better at sticking with what it knows best.

What a big fat "meh" inside and out.

That interior is horribly generic looking.

First, I think this is just damn ugly unlike the original. Second, FCA cars depreciate like nothing else. But if you’re dead set on it, just buy one a year or two old for half price. I think the regular Grand Cherokee looks better and you can get a Trackhawk for less that will probably be way more fun and just as capable for the most part.

This isn't a Trackhawk alternative. It's an Escalade/Navigator competitor.

Not looking to pick a fight or anything but I'd guess badge snobs and 0-60 times have a little bit in common. If you want a lot of unnecessary horsepower they're the go to for sure these days.

When is the hellcat powered canyonaro coming out?
They use the same damn 8speed ZF everyone else uses.

Their electronics aren't any worse than BMW's.

Reliability talk from BMW owners is rich beyond belief. This isn't Lexus we're talking about.

I can walk into any BMW dealer and there will be multiple engine out N63 repairs happening.

Alot of great comments on this thread, I agree with most.

Grand Wagoneer = great brand equity with hipsters and 40s/50s demographic with money and who want to buy American. There are such people, strange as it may seem to BMW enthusiasts.

Interesting vehicle, it will sell. Can it beat Ford and GM? Not sure.

I never said it was. I was merely commenting on that I think a Trackhawk would be a more engaging and better looking vehicle for less money.

GC is already huge. How big is this gonna be? Do we need a CDL to drive it?

Needs more rows. And paint it yellow, the Duggers need a new schoolbus.

I imagine it’ll be larger than a Durango which is already a larger Grand a Cherokee.

Really question why a three row is necessary if you have less than 4 kids. Definitely wasn't when I grew up. Dog in the boot.

Love the Macan, have a Cayenne. Can't imagine cross shopping porsche and jeep. Then again, decided not to buy a wrangler when I was shopping recently, drives like a sack of potatoes, must just be a jeep thing.

We used to own a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. You couldn’t kill that thing. So I get the reputation, but unfortunately things don’t always remain the same. For whatever reason all FCA products suffer from some electric architectural design flaw. I will ask you to see how many FCA products have the left headlight out on them. Doesn’t matter which brand. They all suffer from this: Fiat, Ram, Chrysler etc. That’s just one issue. And you could say well that’s somewhat minor, just replace the bulb....sure, not without practically removing the entire front end.

The proof of concept here is my example. My GC SRT had a sticker of $72k---not exactly cheap. And for that price, I can get into any of the established name plates. But why? I very briefly considered a LR Disco which I really liked when I sat in one. The forums at the time were littered with people with their Discos in for service and the dealer didn't know the cause of the problem. Then there were the slew of other issues. Same old LR/RR BS. Next.

I looked (briefly) at what I could get for $75k max in a Cayanne and X5. No thanks. Low performance and no features of interest. Meanwhile the SRT is a much faster vehicle than the comparatively priced german options, way better looking (IMO), and far more features/tech. I've had the SRT for 1.5 yrs and ~10,200 miles. Only had a faulty USB connector go bad on me.

And of course, there's the other thing that no one is considering and was also a factor for me. The badge. Although I could have convinced her if I tried hard enough, my wife doesn't want to own a car with a fancy badge (despite me having an M3, lol). She had no inherent interest in a Porsche, BMW, MB. She was marginally interested in the LR. So that's another real consideration, depending on your views, your job, and where you live.

My Jeep isn't perfect. It doesn't have the nice feel of even a base luxo SUV. But it's well screwed together and fun to toss around back roads. I suspect that a $100k GW, will be a much nicer and higher quality experience. I prefer the looks of the X7/GLS, but I would definitely check out the GW. Though I generally don't go for fullly loaded vehicles, so I doubt I'd be spending $100k---particularly with the inevitable discounts.
How is wanting an X7 or a RR over the Wagoneer after seeing the photos of it,etc. being a BMW snob?

If someone prefers a certain BMW model over a certain Jeep model they're totally just brand snobs, you're right.

To suggest Jeep is even close to being on par with BMW quality is absurd. (I even owned the top trim $60k Grand Cherokee).
If you cant tell the difference in fit and finish and build materials, buy a Kia, save your money and be happy. Jeep is mid tier to upper mid tier when they are fully optioned up. My everyday rig is a loaded Power Wagon and I know the brand very well and what they do best. Luxury and premium build materials ain’t one of them.
That’s not being a snob but recognizing a completely different segment of the automotive industry. My wife recently had a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon for 2 years and that was about all she needed to get that out of her system and back into a A4..

You're giving them too much credit. The only Chrysler product that's somewhat impressive is the Ram.

Could say this about a fair amount of BMWs as well.

I would also add the upper tier of Hellcats/Demons to this, but majority of the FCA products fall well short of Mid to Upper tier.
