I can only speak to my personal experience and friends with the newer phones...

The cameras in anything newer than a X, are significantly better with regards to low light conditions and much much sharper. If anyone cares, that's a decent upgrade... if you take a photo in any dark conditions, you will notice this difference immediately. Usually that's a solid differentiator between a good and bad camera.

As far as processor speed, I have my X connected to carplay and it consistently skips, lags etc... i compared to a family member's 11 Pro and it is flawless... so I do think the Ram and CPU upgrades must be quite large.... also i would never complain about a newer battery.

If you are a basic user, maybe it doesn't matter to you as much. I would say, if you have an 11 Pro or newer, skip. Anything below that is worthwhile.

My 11pro is still perfectly good. No reason for me to upgrade. I try to keep a phone for 3-4 years min.

I had a 6S and refused to pay $1K to upgrade after paying $299 for the 6S. I did buy a clean used 11 back in January for $500 so I am set until a big upgrade is released.

Have had Android forever and currently have an S10 and it’s still going strong but I think I’ll make the switch once there’s a noticeable change in performance or battery life. Maybe around time for an iPhone 15 or 16.

The battery health on my iPhone 7 says it's at 88% capacity and it's supporting normal peak performance. Pretty good for a 7 year old phone. Will probably replace the battery next year.

Does anyone know if the 13 Pro Max will fit into the wireless charging tray in the G30 ?

I am reluctant to pre order if it won’t fit with a case.

So how tight is the fit ?

I upgrade every year and pass the previous phone to my son and trade in the one he's using.

For me the benefits are...

• both phones are under AppleCare
• older phone still has value and significantly offsets the cost of the new phone by ~40%
• improved battery life
• older phone is replaced just as the battery is starting to degrade
• improved camera and low light capabilities
• I always have the best camera for capturing pictures of the family

iPhone X here. FaceID & ApplePay WERE DEFINITELY worth the Upgrade!!! HIGHLY RECOMMMENDED upgrade to those with Touch ID. MY mom still has an 8 and it drives me crazy whenever I have to deal with it.

However, I don't need a 13. More battery life and better camera aren't enough to make me jump.

I have an 11 Pro which I only upgraded to from my 10S because my mom needed a phone so I gave her my 10S and got the 11 Pro. I did the upgrade program through Apple (even though from a pure $$ you are better off selling on your own each time) mainly to not have to deal with anything when I wanted to swap.

Turns out it has been a total cluster fuck and I'm basically unable to upgrade due to issues on both TMobiles end, Apples end and even the bank that does the financing. So as soon as I can figure out how to get out of the stupid program I will be paying it off and keeping my 11 Pro. Probably switch carriers also.

Every now and then it's a good idea to clean the lint out of the lightening port. I had the same problem brought it to the store and the associate pulled out a dust bunny that was hiding.

I hate Touch ID!!!! It baffles me that people still like it and hope it comes back.

When I was in Amsterdam it was constantly drizzling and my work phone Touch ID was absolutely useless!

I agree the camera improvements are massive... I have a X and compared the same exact photo at night taken at the same time with an 11 PRO. The difference was just absurd... I can't even fathom how good the 13 pro will be.

People say low light isnt a big deal because you don't take photos at night but reality is that this necessitates larger sensors which will improve everything.

My son was born one month after the first iPhone came out. My wife, I and our in laws all got one and were at the hospital just taking pictures. Every nurse and person there looked at us like we were so weird.

So my sons whole life is documented on my phone literally from when it was released.

The picture quality from when he was an infant to a teenager now is pretty crazy to scroll through.

Exactly! And it's not "night" photos but more "low light" that I benefit from, e.g. indoors, dusk, birthday parties, etc.. Basically, anytime something is not well lit.
