I just realized something. Elon Musk also owns Tesla. Considering the problems with their self-driving cars getting into accidents, it takes 'nads of steel to climb into self-flying rocket V1.0!
On the bright side, if it was Boeing's Starliner, they would have been delivered to the completely wrong orbit and have to come home early because of computer bugs. Is that high-roller's mission for a ride around the moon on a Falcon Heavy/Dragon stack still on? Low Earth orbit is soooooo lame these days, to the point of being a tourist trap. A trip around the moon has only been experienced by a handful of men...and the last of them was in the early 1970's.....

They might be throwing out FUD landing locations. The circus of pleasure boats circling one of the first splashdowns before the recovery crews could secure things was dangerous.....

So it looks like the crew has landed from their 3 day trip into space.
You can watch the whole process at the previously provided link. The actual and literal "splashdown" occurs at the 1:12:23 mark of the video. https://www.spacex.com/launches/ Last edited by TiMSport; 09-18-2021 at 10:39 PM.. |

Interesting sidenote about Musk, he has six kids. I never would've guessed that.
