Grades 1-6, every year near the end, I guess I just couldn't stand the pressure any longer. I would get in ONE fight, with somebody, during the last 3 weeks of school, and get a note sent home and have to do detention. The problem was, I was the white part of integration and had to ride a bus miles to/from school, so a parent would have to show up on that detention day to take me home.
I ditched one day in HS, to go ocean clam digging. I didn't even like clams, and still don't to this day. It was probably the worst day of my HS career, I was so paranoid I'd get caught. |

I was pretty good avoiding detention but at my small town school parking lot I was out with a friend listening to AC/DC in his car. Coach Brown pulled up in his golf cart and asked us what we were doing. We said “listening to some music coach”. He gave us both afternoon detention for listening to satanic music. Even in 1980 small town east Texas that was weird.
But the best part was when he took the tape and looked at it he said “ huh, highway to hell? That’s where you boys are headed if you listen to this crap”. My buddy never got that tape back. When I told my dad about it he told me to just do the time we’d be out of that town soon.

Oh my. I could spend days typing out my list. Those here that know my personality well, can only imagine me as a kid. I stayed in trouble. Some quick memorable instances:
We stole the Shoney's Big Boy and put it on top of the awning over the school entrance in High School. I had detention so many times that my father got quite familiar with my 6th grade teacher. The last time I saw her was at my father's funeral. Apparently they had a fling for 30 years. Countless fights. I did push-ups from beginning of class to the end of class every day for months in World History in HS. The teacher and I did not get along. I got in trouble for talking and he made me do push-ups. After I would finish, he would make a smart ass comment, so I would make one in return, then I was doing push-ups again. I did push-ups everyday after role call until I finished one day and he said nothing after. Years later, I saw the teacher and he stopped me to shake my hand. He said that he realized I was showing my strength of character, by continuing to put myself through hell, by talking back. He said that he kept doing it just to see if he could break me. He did not. He realized what was happening and thought he'd see if he said nothing if I would still be a smart ass. He said nothing and I said nothing in return, that was the last day I did push-ups. He actually congratulated me and told me he had never seen a student so hard-headed. Sex in the locker room under the stadium bleachers during a football game. Didn't get caught for that one, but hearing people cheer while you're doing the deed was great! I'll have to think of more, but there are sooooo many more. |

When I was in junior high school me and my friends would leave campus at lunch time and get someone to buy wine for us and we'd go to this old abandoned house and spend the next few hours getting wasted, then go back to school just when it was letting out to raise hell and get into trouble and start some fights or whatever kind of ruckus we could cause. I spent more time being suspended and in detention than attending class - not really but they were a close second, lol.

I'd like to thank the spammer for digging up this thread. Pretty funny stuff. Let's see who else can contribute.
Oh, and you know you're old when you didn't remember you participated in said thread and was about to post the same stories. Carry on

I was never in any serious trouble in school and learned how to be in sales by "selling" my way thru school. I was just the wiseass that got in trouble for disruption.
Once in middle school I was sent to the principles office so many times for petty shit - she closed the door and gave me the fire and brimstone speak. "And if you get sent back here ONE MORE TIME this year - I am suspending you - DO YOU UNDERSTAND????" My best friends mother was her aide, so as I walked out she didn't say a word, but was giving me the look as I sulked out with my tail between my legs. This happened during class, so the halls were pretty empty as I shuffled back to class. I stopped 1/2 way back at the water fountain to get a drink. As I was getting a drink - this girl in my class walks by and bops my head into the water. I laugh and fill my hand with water and fling it at her as she runs away - she is like 15 feet away by now, so what did I get on her - 4 drops maybe??? She goes and turns me into the office. Talk about a fucking cunt. Principle calls me back in and my best friends mom sees me walking back in and goes "Oh Matt......" like this was 15 minutes after "The Speech". Didn't matter she started it, didn't matter she was a cunt, I got 3 days suspension. It's funny now, but I was furious then. I took every opportunity I could the rest of my middle school years to make her life hell if I got a chance.
