I like it, very industrial design aesthetic.

If $$ is not an issue, I would go Macan all day long over the Audi and BMW.
X3m has a great engine, but rides rough and has little steering feel compared to the Macan. |

I've driven the X3M once so I don't recall how it compares in that regard. But I do distinctly recall the X3M's steering having less road feel and just feeling very "electric." But for EPS it was decent enough. The Macan's steering feels basically very close to how hydraulic steering did.

I prefer heavier steering regardless. Love how weighted the Macan is even when pulling out of the garage.

Yes, it's much lighter and progressive at low speeds and tightens up as you build speed. It's not too light in my opinion and makes the Macan feel a bit more nimble. But if you like a very weighted feeling wheel at all speeds, the regular power steering will work better for you (a lot of the Macan guys code out the power steering plus (if it came as an option that they didn't choose), for exactly the reason you mentioned. For me, I don't like overly boosted feeling steering (I liked that feeling when the steering racks were hydraulic but not on an EPS rack).

BMW's hydraulic racks were certainly slower than some modern EPS systems, but they felt so fulfilling to drive even at low speeds.

I have cars with it, cars without it. Generally I don't mind having it or not. It is a bit of a personal preference.

I picked standard as I’m not a fan of overly thick wheels. BMW have gone too thick with their wheels IMO. Visually they’re almost indistinguishable.
