I was referencing the 2000s but all clearly amazing entries and invoke more passion than the pathetic BRZ or whatever they call it which is worse than the RSX Type S which is 20 years old at this point.

Again you're not answering my question...apart from JDM vehicles, what do you consider cool that's not out of reach for most young people? European, American, etc.? You made it a point of this post to point out that you don't think there's any cool JDM cars like there used to be.

I just bought a 2007 s2000 that I'm going to keep bone stock, and am working on buying another 2005 that's gonna be modded to piss, but not 1100rwhp like the last one.
Buy them before you can't because they're dead.

The K series motor of that time was best suited for the DC5R chassis that weighed ~2,500 lbs. By the time Acura got their hands on it and the RSX Type S made it stateside, it ballooned to nearly 2,900 lbs - not ideal. I figured this out well into my all-motor journey and before I went all in, I thought better of it and moved on.

The best sports cars ever made came from Japan in the 1990s, full stop. FD RX-7, Supra, NSX, GTR. Absolute legends. Those cars have no equal. I say that as someone who has some of the most desirable cars in production today.

Not sure why OP started this thread as it seems like his/her mind is already made up.
This really needs to be a point-in-time comparison. Today: Civic Si/Type R Acura Integra Nissan Z Toyota GR Corolla Toyota GR86/Subaru BRZ Toyota Supra Subaru WRX Lexus RC F/500 Mazda Miata Acura NSX Nissan GTR Nostalgia is king, but I have a hard time finding a more extensive list at any point in the past, even when you consider a couple of these are on their way out. As a bonus, most of these are offered in manual! Maybe there was brief time when there were more options, but it's clear there is nothing to complain about right now. Now if you wait 5-7 years, it's probably going to be depressing for many of us.

It's pretty cool for its current price point....a naturally aspirated (yeah, remember those?) sports sedan that revs higher than my Cayman, has a legit suspension even in AWD form, and with expected Japanese reliability. It's the fucktwats who modify them in the most unbecoming manners that give them a bad perception.

Yes sir! If you've never driven one hit me up and drive this thing. This transmission is the swiss watch of manual transmissions. I love nothing more than just taking this little roadster and BEATING IT. It loves to slide, and since it's so quiet nobody even looks at it twice.
