Why is Tanzanite Blue almost 3x expensive in the US than in the UK, where it is the same price as other regular metallic paints!

I know Tanzanite Blue is always a $2000 option in the US across different models, but why…

Do people in UK like blue less than people in US, lol

Design is heading in the wrong direction...

I want to like this car but I just can't. No PHEV option is bad. Grill is worse, but lack of opening sunroof makes this model a non sequitur for me

Because people pay it. Pricing between countries/regions show nothing since there are different standard features, options, packages, etc. BMWNA, as well as other regional BMW organizations. offer what they think will maximize the profit while also growing market share. They also have different strategies for product differentiation which often accounts for the differences between regions.

The lack of interior color options is disappointing. Black and different shades of beige/brown....

Maybe they'll add more options for the LCI in MY 2029. But don't hold your breath!

I was surprised when I was reading that the moonroof was a standard feature as well as sport seats on the configurator. I thought it has been said neither were available. So I'm still hoping that BMW doesn't shoot themselves and not have either of those especially in the M50 which is geared to the more sport oriented. I didn't see any references to the pano roof at all. And it looks like if you don't get that woven dash you get sensatec.
What happened to carbon black and better colors for the interior? And the choices of wheels are horrendous!! Did they give a bonus for who could design the worst wheels?

- Once again the M Sport Professional Package forces red brake calipers. If you want blue calipers, you'd have to lose out on the MSPP's Shadowline lights and the extended Shadowline trim; and you can't add extended Shadowline trim separately...? Come on, BMW, why do we keep doing this?

Edit: looks like the Buying/Pricing guides show:

ZMQ M Sport Professional Package
* 33B M Sport Package Pro
* 3M2 M Sport Brakes with Red Calipers

* or 3M1 - M Sport Brakes with Blue Calipers
* 3MF M Shadowline Lights
* 552 Adaptive Full LED Lights
* 7M9 Extended Shadowline Trim

Might be a configurator bug that they'll resolve later. Here's to hoping, because Arctic Race Blue looks great with blue calipers.
It’s not a bug, just that the consumer configurator is different than the dealer order system. When I ordered my MY23 drive recorder and PAP were not listed on the configurator but the dealer was able to add them, and that was the same for a few other options (H/K). Be sure to review your VIR against the price guide and don’t be afraid to ask questions!

Clearly people prefer beige to Carbon Black. In the UK you can option Skyscraper grey but not on the M50 model.

There are no “M Sport” seats (the better seats), just the things BMW call Sport Seats, which are the least sporty looking/feeling seat n the M50 they could have imagined lol

One more nail in the coffin for me regarding the G45s - no more coding. Given the number of people on the forums that use Bimmercode, professional coding services, OBD Eleven, Carly, etc., that will not be popular. OTOH, it's probably a very small subset of BMW's overall customer base.

You must have missed it. It is the first item listed in the Convenience package and of course is also in the Premium package. It is a standard feature in the M50.

I was thinking the same thing. I loved BMW 5 Tourings. Had several before they removed from our market in USA. Had to go with the X3. However, the M5's weight is out of control. Something around 5300lbs for the sedan, and Touring will be more. Sure you get over 700hp, but it has to lug around so much more weight.

Looks like there's a lot more standard features on the M50 though I only played around the configurator for the G01 in Canada two months ago.

I didn't even have to add more than $4,000 worth of options though I didn't bother selecting additional interior options since I'm not contemplating on ordering one.

If the price bump is only around 2%, it seems to be well worth the money spent.

How are people getting theirs priced at $75,000+, with the expensive paint options? I'm surprised they have those $200 add-ons, they could have just made them standard lol.

In the pricing guide, "space-saver spare" was marked as standard. Does that mean no more run-flats?

Sad. I truly enjoy having a sunroof. I don’t have it in my 7 having the LED sky roof. Would much rather being able to open it up tough

Correct, all tire options appear to be go-flats.

Thoughts on the woven textile dashboard?

Not sure if I want to add that on or not - what are you all doing?

It looks naff lol.

It also covers the top half of the door cards, so ideal for rain, greasy fingers, etc.
