Yeah regular sport feels great on the ‘22. Fast shifts, better throttle mapping, and stays in the torque band. Sport plus am not a fan.

Good to know they’ve changed shift points to make it more fun.

It looks something more like Lexus 550 hood but that is a boxy car that deserves it. all makers have paid attention to this hood/ fender height ratio and gone for a high fender to hood ratio and subtle transition line. Get inside the car and so the hood towers even when seated! In person to me it looked hideous and disproportionate in its characterless side and overstated high hood. I am sure it will suffer as did other recent BMWs such as big grille. But difficult to propose clients when they have beautiful X5s X7s or lrevgen X3/ next to it, for clients to knowingly rush to get this one. Maybe it is designed to funnel people to the X5? Who knows or maybe BMW leftover designers are as eclectic as their varying outputs.
So bottom line is you love it right? Anyway, M3 with the big grille is still going for MSRP how many years later? Curious which big grille BMW is suffering?

Not at all. Hideous. both BMW dealerships in my city have sold very few big grille BMWs and they stopped even bribing them in. Intend to see one on display not on the roads. There are 700 cars inside my work parking lot, dozens of BMWs not a single big grille one. And sales are down in my town but financing rates and other factors do contribute. But as I said the new X3 grille is not an issue and passable. Everything else except the back, hideous. Like that ugly Gretel cousin no one can marry. Makes the x5 and x7 look sophisticated and sexy.

Got it. So based upon your opinion and scientific research, driving by your local dealer and your work parking lot, BMW big grill sales are down. This is all new information that can’t be found anywhere. In fact, I think there may be a conspiracy at work with BMW inflating their big grill sales. Thank you for educating me.

Well I certainly have more scientific knowledge and critical thinking to separate fallacies and ad hominem attacks from actual arguments. You lost yours the moment you veered condescending.and no I cannot educate you for high school undergrad nor graduate degrees. May have the paper but not the skill. BMW big grille sales are collapsing as the phased them out. That is a fact. They are slowly redoing it as if it was a Josef Kaban eccentricity. Shall I educate you as well how Joseph Kaban impacted BMW looks with his Skoda Opel background whereas his predecessor approved designs such as the last X3 M40i that prev generation? And let’s educate you further on big grill sales. Since the biggest was on cars sold by single digits, Ms a few select X etc if your argument for BMW inflating sales for their smallest niche sales segment within their 300,000+ NA sales is Hubris. Ever heard of hubris? Etymology traces back to Greek. So go pick up the BMW sales list, and show me how many of the bugs bunny cross-dressed lip vehicles are on the big numbers, and we can revisit. That is if you have the basic statistical ability to take double digit numbers , divide by 300,000+ and x 100 to give us a percentile. Is that scientific enough for you?

Actually I think it would be on you to provide some specifics to what you are saying. Many consider the M3 to be a big grill and as we know that has set sales records.

Probably best if you give some data as to what models you are talking about and of course the time period for both sales and comparisons.

Who and what is suffering? I happen to work for BMW, no one is suffering over here. We’re selling these “big grille” BMW’s to folks like they’re hot cakes.

90% of our clientele skip over the old gen X3’s (Which keep in mind are still considered New cars) because frankly they look 5-10 years older than this newest generation.

Also, what auto manufacturer would ever build a brand new model to “funnel” consumers into an older generation that’s in a completely different segment? 😂

Hey I am not a psychiatrist and I cannot assist with false beliefs. How many M3s have you sold to argue that big grill sells and do not hurt you? 2 series 3 series 4 M2 X3 X 5 and even the X7 all new gens have small grilles compared to what the M3 purposed. M5 went small 5 series 7 series all small grilles. So if you argue that the 99% of sales you do wel by are the revised grilles good ro you. But if you argue that the M3s and big grill are the trend when not even 1% of sales, I can only defer to a clinician.

So in other words you have nothing to backup your position. You should have just said that to begin with.

Not only was the M3 the best selling M car in 2023 is was the best selling high-performance sports car in the world. I would imagine BMW is happy with those results.

In 2023 BMW USA reported 363,224 vehicles. 33,000 were 3 series. Within these , on the forum, BMW USA staffers report 5,000 M3 series (3 platform) produced. So say 5,000/363,224 x100= 1.92% for what was supposed to be the next generation trend. Are these numbers acceptable facts - not arguments?
