Bring her inside. Even if she could survive those temps, it is a nice thing to do for your dog. My greyhound would freak if we left her outside especially at those temps.....

I'm not sure but I would think something like 30's would be okay. I wouldn't leave any dog outside if it drops below freezing.

I was thinking of starting a topic on dogs as well. Perhaps we should have a dog help thread.

i brought her in already. although she doesnt seem to notice the cold. its almost like she doesnt realize. runs around and plays just like its summer time.

i know huskies fur are able to withstand -30 F. i wonder how cold it must get until my dog starts to feel a light chill

I have two Rotties at my company's yard(guard dogs), and they have a heated dog house and heated dog maps, and they like to roam the yard better. i just don't get it. It was Freezing yesterday 5 degrees with the windchill and they were just chilling. *(No pun intended).

So dogs are just weird. i love them, but i just don't understand why in the world they wouldn't go inside their house.

If your dog isn't shivering then she doesn't feel it. Dogs with proper winter coats can run around in snow without any issues. My border collie loves winter and will 'swim' through the 4-5ft high snow banks in -15 C. She'll even play fetch with a snowball

Don't worry about it your dog will be fine if you're just letting her out to play for a while

my dane stays out in the snow for hours i have to pick him up and carry him in sometimes. german shepards are pretty hearty dogs but no dog that is used to living inside can or should endure those temps any longer than a person should. i heard that if you go out side in those kind of temps the dog can be 2/3s as cold as you not to mention thier paws.

sometimes my dog just does not pay attention to anything let alone how cold it is.
but after he has been outside for a while he likes to relax in a nice hot bubble bath.

I went on a week long ski trip to the Alps and left my dog back at home. there was a blizzard when I left and the average temperature was around 0 degree (F). There was windchill too so it was report that the temperature went down to below Zero.

anyhow, when I went back home I was expecting to see a frozen dog but no instead I saw the bastard jumping and running everywhere being all excited to see me.

I brought him inside and he is fine.
And you said that montreal red was a bad pet owner for leaving his dog in a locked car for 10 minutes. Citing that he left him in the cold car. And yet, you left yours outside for a week in a freaking blizzard. I know they are different breads, you seriously left your dog outside alone for a week?

You know there are options when it comes to dog care right? Like a "pet hotel", etc. Did you at least have a person come and check on him?

Like I said back in his thread, to many of us our pets are family not just an animal.

A Florida couple spent $155,000 to clone their dog. Crazy shit.

Based on his comments in the other thread and here, this person is either a troll or an asshole. Best to ignore him either way.
