The most I have spent on jeans is 150 on a pair of Hugo Boss. Best fitting jeans I have ever bought. I usually go with DKNY jeans. They run anywhere from 65-90.
Like others have said, if they fit, are comfortable and make you happy, go for it. Same with cars. Do you really need a 40,000 BMW when you can buy a 12,000 Civic.. HA!

To me no jeans are worth over $60. even if it does have a 7, 8 or a 9 for mankind on it.
But everyone one has their different tastes. I rather spend my money on a good prime rib dinner.

I consider myself a bit of a denim junkie. I love jeans and how versitile they are be it for going out to a nice dinner with a flirty top to sitting around the house lounging.
I am a HUGE fan of Blue Cult jeans which range from about $180 to $250. Whenever a new style comes out for those I snatch them up because they fit me perfectly, there is no break in period. I also recently found that Chip & Pepper jeans fit me so I got a pair on sale for $100 from $180. Also a huge fan of D&G and Cavallis but I try to only by them on sale since they are usually $300 and up. The super trendy jeans like 7's, True Religion, Citizens, AG, and Habitat just don't fit me so I don't care how "cool" they are. For lounging around the house I buy Gap straight bootcuts for $50 because they are so soft but they don't fit as well as the others. After wearing them for an hour the fabric starts to strech and sag in places so they are basically sweatpant equivalents.

I have 3 pairs of sevens for which I paid about 135-168 each. I have a pair of Earnest Cut & Sewn for which I paid 198. I think alot of it has to do with image, but for me personally they are the only jeans that are comfortable and look good and the ladies seem to like them as well.

I think the most expensive jeans i've bought are Abercrombie and Fitch. I think they were like $60. or maybe it was express. In any case, I actually prefer American Eagle jeans. I love their fit. not too tight, not too loose, and i've picked up a few pairs for $20! and they are good quality last a long time.
Abercrombie and Fitch sucks. Quote:

Most of you will think this is all I do with the money I get paid here...
But for me... its all about comfort... Honestly the brand names doesnt really matter because I dont wear jeans with a big "Tommy" on them or whatever.. For some reason I dig pocket detail, comfort, and fit. I'm a pretty thin guy so finding jeans that fit right, arent too tight cuz your skinny, or too baggy cuz your skinny is my biggest thing. With that being said, the jeans I wear the most are 575, not a big fan of seven's maybe its cuz there so mainstream... Yes jeans are just jeans, however the fit, the cut, Feel, and the finish make most of the jeans worth every penny. Oh BTW: for those in So cal, hear Alhambra i got a sick place where you can get these 575 jeans for less then a bill... my first pair I got where in the $274 range. |

Unless a "bill" is ONE U.S. DOLLAR, you're still paying too much.

I don't think I've ever spent more than $100 for jeans and i doubt I ever would. But for me there is a distinction between everyday wear for work and doing stuff around the house (Levi's/American Eagle/Tommy Hilfiger) and nicer ones for going out for a casual/dressier look (Banana Republic/Diesel). As long as they are comfortable, look right and fit right they could be any brand in my mind.

i used to be like some of you guys. not care as long as they fit and didn't sag.
but after i finally tried on a 'nice' pair of jeans. i realized what i was missing out on. and if you wear jeans on a regular basis (which i bet most of us do). its worth the amount of money. from exerpience i can tell you the expensive ones last longer, yes they are overpriced, but just like BMWs we admit that they are a bit overpriced and people do pay more for the name. but to us its worth it, and most of us won't go back to regular cars. so i too won't go back to 'regular' 'cheap' or whatever you call them jeans. the expensive jeans are so much more comfortable, and if you really didn't want to spend to much money, just go to the sale section. it is rare, but it happens if you go at the right time (usually end of season). in fact, i just bought a 50 dollar banana republic jeans a few days ago, and i love them. in the end, i would say try a nice pair of jeans first, before you say they aren't worth the 80+ dollars or so. its no coincidence my most expensive jean wears the best, has lasts the longest, and makes me the happiest. btw my fav jeans are lucky brand. perfect fit for my body |

I've got about 8 pairs of Seven and 3 desiels and 1 Paper denim & cloth. Total Value....hmm... $2450. I only wear about 5 of them the other sit in my closet. But I wear jeans nearly every day. But the best part about it is I havn't bought any of them. All from Girlfriends and my shopaholic Sister.
My parents gave her 50k to buy a car when she was 18. She ended up getting a jetta because she spent the rest on cloths. Idiot!
