If someone has a high GPA and tests well, they have a chance. It's not fair to laugh at someone who is striving to go to Harvard just because they go to TAMU. A&M is not a bad school at all. |

holy crap i meant i did the same damn thing. just didnt elaborate, it was late last night. shit someone with your goals needs to be confident. you seem pretty defensive which can come across as insecure. if anyone laughs at your goals just keep your head up. only you know what you are capable of. and to clarify my original post i wrote ha, not haha. one ha in this case was used in a matter of fact manner. haha on the other hand would be antagonistic. but i can still see how it was confusing. |

Well it seems that everyone has definitely surpassed me in schools attending and degrees. Here's my plan: (Btw I do plan on doing all of this so don't doubt me!)
Currently a double major in Communications and Political Science. Plan to get both degrees @ ASU after 5 years. Upon completion transferring out to SCU to get my masters in public administration. After that probably just going to stay at SCU for my BAR. My parents give me shit about the 150k+ in student loans debt I will have. Although I know that once completing all my goals 6 figures is easily attainable. |

Well he may not be working with student loan company as much as he should. Some companies offer not starting to pay it off as late as 5 years after you graduate, if you qualify. I plan on living at a hooptie studio for $1400/month and driving my Honda till every last dime is paid off. Then comes the true reward of owning a home and Buying My Wife. etc etc.

i took a loan through my dads bank they gave me a 5month grace period but i do make payments every month. Maybe your confused with companies paying for your school like your MBA? but that's if you get with a big company |

Maybe I am. But, 5 months to find a job shouldn't be too hard. The road is long, narrow, and twisty. The next 8-10 years should be quite an experience.

It goes by quickly. The only advice I have is make sure you network well and take an internship, even unpaid if you have to. It's your best chance at a first job.

Decided to go the regular job route this time. Just got a job at Best Buy $11/hr starting which isn't bad. Also delivering phonebooks, all while working security on occasion at pubs, club events, and such. All this while turning 19 in a few months!! |

Meh. I want to stay close to home. I like the campus, they have a good engineering program and it is close to home. I am not going to live there and I don't party. |

Don't get me wrong... I love college. But I don't choose to go to a college that can make me rich. I picked mine for historical reasons. Because a particular experiment is performed there (Michelson Morley at Case western reserve university... physics majors should know). I just love what I learn... my purpose there is simply to understand how our universe work (and the parties of course). Am I stupid for thinking this way? Am I just not mature enough?

about to graduate from UCLA in June and my only advise to people entering college is, Life is Short and Make the Best of It. What do I mean by that? Try hard in school, compete but also don't be one of those kids who try so hard that they never see the light of day. Education is important however college is a time where you will need to support yourself without your parents (monetary and a non-monetary way). You make mistakes and you learn from them -- if you are in a dorm room or an apartment studying, you will not learn shit about the real world and secondly, you will never make lifelong friends. HAVE FUN!! After college, you will have to work support yourself and possibly your family, MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR SITUATION, NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY!!!! Good Luck
