Correct, it is a beautiful tone. But it is a bit underpowered for being a big car. Low end grunt would be nice but if you want a sweet sound, its the Maserati all the way

Maserati is a little more exclusive though up keep is more expensive than MB. I'd still choose the Maserati over the MB for it being more involving in the driving experience.

Tricky one this.

Do you go for the ugly one or the REALLY ugly one.

Why not wait for the Porsche Panamera

then you will have a choice of three ulgy cars to choose from.

Old model, new model.

It still looks pig ugly to me.

Very few car this length pull off the looks of elegance and style. In fact I can think of just two, but to mention one of them casts me in a bad light with some members, in any case it's due to be replaced very soon. The other is the XFR, great drive, class looking and as comfortable as one could ever want.

Oh what the hack, the S8 to me is the best looking in this sector but like the S-class and 7-series it is common compared to the Quattroporte.

CL63: he thinks coupes are not as practical
S65 AMG: I think 65 AMG is a little too much for him. S550 would do it for him but my mom wants something unique, that's why 7er is not on the list.
Panamera: I'm in love with this car but I hope he likes the rear end though...

I agree with Footie. The Audi S8 is probably the best looking of the bunch and I think it offers the most bang for the buck (Quattro, handling and great straight line performance).

But if your choices are the S63 or QP, I would probably go for the S63. The QP in Sport GT trim is an exotic looking, way more exclusive and a lot more involving car than the Merc, but the Merc is faster and build quality is way, way better.

The exhaust note on the Maser is a bit nicer though.

my customer's trade-in on a custom ordered 750Li.

MB S600 tuned by RENNTECH...650HP, 775TQ...most insanely fast big car i have ever driven. he had a full body kit on it too...as well as massive HRE wheels and huge brake kit by Brembo.

AMAZING!!!!!!!

I'd say Maser, but it would come down to the interior, which I'd have to experience in person. Which I haven't, so my opinion is void anyway.

Get the facelift and a tubi to go with it. Cannot be beat, unless he does decide to get the S65

i'd go with the s63. the reason i say this is because i was thinking about getting a QP for a while, but ended up not because of the laundry list of reliability issues and ancillary costs of ownership. the transmission issues are well documented with the QP, but along with that you get italian car overall reliability, which isn't great. QP is a beautiful car, the engine noises from a ferrari-bred V8 are excellent, but if you plan to drive the piss out of it, prepare to unload your wallet.

he wouldn't mind paying out of his own pocket but since this is going to be his daily driver, leaving the car at stealership often will annoy the hell out of him. thanks for the info
