So, to recap what we have learned here. If you buy an IS-F, think its a good idea to dump a pile of money into mod-ing it, and wear ugly pants, then you won't have even one friend who will hold the camera for you.

Um..a C63 with a tune and bolt-ons will run mid 11s easy so I don't know where you got that.

Yeah, he said he was neck-in-neck with an LP-640 (in another video). That's pretty weak for a twin turbo setup. I think a supercharged M3 would be faster than that. I know an HPF stage 2 E46 can smoke an LP-640 from a roll. That IS-F needs JB3, then it could take off from an aircraft carrier.

Why?

That car is so much faster with that auto than it would be with a manual.

Manual is old hat - DKG pls!

I was fortunate enough to mess around on the Salzburgring with M last month in a M3 coupe with DKG (DCT). Was skeptical at first but I'm a believer now. Let's see: it's faster, has more gears, aka lower fuel consumption, u manually change with both hands on the wheel - (lightening fast changes and zero screw-ups), u chill and knock it back into auto for city trawling.
So this arrived last week - pics.

I've never seen that twin turbo set up before (at the level of the mufflers). Is this common? I don't know if its more beneficial to have the exhaust pressure build up near the engine or the exhaust.

I know there was a company, STS Turbo I think, that has rear-mount turbos. I'm not sure if this is beneficial or not, but I do know that it's weird.

I've seen it show up mainly in hot rodding of domestics - it's pretty rare, AFAIK. It's only been in the last couple of years that I've come across it and then only in magazines. Have yet to see any equivalent setup in person.

There's gotta be some benefit from keeping the turbos out of the engine bay, from a heat soak perspective, but the plumbing has to be a nightmare! ; -)
