get the mercedes SL, even though it's not on your list
the quatroporte is OK, but I'd be tempted to get an M5 for WAY less $$$, and the maseratti coupe is a heinously ugly thing even if it does basically have a ferrari engine |

Connie:
Re: mercedes quality going down, I believe it. Our family has owned 3, and the ones in the 90's were not as troubled as 2000+ from our experience. I think the BMW 6 Series is HOT, and a real head turner. My friend has a CLS550 AMG, and its a really great looking car and classy (suede roof, etc), but I don't think your mom really needs that power. I'm a big fan of the quattropoche (sp?), and am seriously considering that as my next car. But I believe the maintenance issues (as mentioned) should be considered. Bottom line, I think most of the cars you mentioned are very nice cars, but it comes down to your mom's personal choice. I think she should test drive each of them and see which one is comfortable for her in terms of seating, rear view angles, comfort, etc. Also, you may want to see what car will make her stand out. In my area, for example, Mercedes CLS/Mercedes SL's are pretty common cars. 6 Series are less common, and the Maserati is the most rare, which is cool.

I would get a BMW 6 series. I have driven a lot of cars and if you dont need 4 doors, its the best in its class. I wouldnt go for the Jaguar because they are all quarantined right now do to a leaky gas tank, I know this because the Jaguar dealer next to me is pissed that they have 12 XJ8's that cant even be test driven.
If she still wants a sporty look, she could get a 550i sport and not go for an M5, but that depends if she doesnt mind the SMG transmission. And are those pics of the Maserati at the new LFSC, or is that downtown? |

Hey guys, I showed my mom and dad all of your opinions. we are still looking but they narrowed it down to the mercedes, bmw, or maserati - It takes them forever to make a decision so in the mean time I will prob be back on here asking you guys your opinions. Thanks for putting up with me!!
