No sleep here. My mobo doesn't support S3 sleep for some reason, so I just disable it and have the monitor on powersave.

Used sleep for a half a dozen systems over 3+ years and never had a single problem.

I used to work/build on computers/notebooks/networks during highschool (job). There is absolutely nothing wrong with leaving it on 24/7. Power consumption in sleep mode is next to nothing.

In most cases, restarting once a month is minimum (at least in the MS world of patching).. and I consistently go that length of time with no performance problems.

Usually goes on and off during the day when I need to get on. At nights it's off unless it's doing something.

Yeah, but overall it is not bad for the computer. Just effects performance until you restart the computer to free the RAM. I personally never experienced any bog down on my Macs even when they are not restarted in awhile. Then again I have 4 GB of ram in my MBP right now and always have 1-2 GB of ram free most of the time anyway.

To answer the question, on all day and put it to sleep when I go to bed.

If you use your computer just for music and internet then you'll be fine but if you use alot of memory intensive programs, then you must restart or purge your ram.

I hibernate. It takes a few seconds to go in and out of it, but it does not consume any power like sleep mode does.

Damn you guys really leave the computers on like crazy.
I can't even last a day withtout rebooting couple of time let alone making sure I shut it down at night due to heavy applications I use, and I'm talking about near $7k desktop machine.
Rebooting and proper shut downs = maximum performance.

24/7. Mozy runs at 0200, plus whatever other random updates at whatever time.
