I got pulled over a few days ago. The cop clocked me at 45 in a 25. He comes up to my window...
Officer: You were driving a little fast there... Me: Yeah, I know... Officer: Can I see your license and proof of insurance? Me: Sure. *Hands him both items* That's my old insurance card. I just pulled this car out of storage and reinstated the insurance on it so I haven't gotten the new card yet. The policy number is still the same. Officer: Ok, that's fine. How's your driving record? Me: I've had three tickets before... Officer: Ok, sit tight. He walks back to his car and runs my license. Officer: I'm just gonna give you a warning today. Slow down. Me: Thanks, officer. He must have been a really nice guy or something. I would have given myself a ticket for doing 20 over the limit... |

B) I am white, but don't look like any of those things. C) What constitutes driving like a douche bag? D) Never. @Silver - That's just really really lucky. I am very pro police, but not when I get stopped in a scenario like this. Hell, the part of the high way I got pulled over on is the highway that I always am going over the limit on (65-70 MPH) when there is a bunch of traffic in front of me pacing everyone. Today's the day I decide to drive slowly and this happens. If I had been going 70 and gotten stopped, I would have not fought the ticket because I definitely deserved it. |

Let me get this straight, the cop let you off the hook when you were speeding and he's the prick?
Lol that's a good one.

Don't know if you read the post or not... I had my cruise control set @ 60 MPH and never went faster than 60 MPH when he was following me. If you adjust my speed for the speedometer being off, I was really only going about 56 MPH in a 55 MPH area. Cars were passing us left and right, yet I get pulled over. It seems kind of stupid for a cop to pull anyone over for going just 1 MPH above the speed limit (I've actually never even heard of anyone getting pulled over for that small of a number). Had I been going 70 or something, it would have been different, but I wasn't going 70 MPH. He said he "clocked me at 68," but that was a downright lie since I had my cruise control on at 60 the entire time.

You don't get it, do you? I would love to see your reaction if you get pulled over for going 2 MPH over the limit when there are cars both to your left and to your right going faster then you. That's not really what I'm bitching about though. I'm bitching because the cop lied to me and said I was going "68 MPH" when I never hit that speed.

trolling?
Let me tell your story in cliff notes for everyone. Cop pulls you over and says you were going 68 in a 55. You claim that's not possible because your cruise control was set to 60 (which is admission of guilt that you were speeding) and some how you came to the conclusion that you were only going 57 mph. Whos trolling again?

You were speeding and you got pulled over for speeding. Since it was a nominal amount they gave you a warning. Nothing to bitch about. Bitching about catching a break is immature. Maybe you don't have much experience with driving or police (you never answered age, just said not 16 which means probably 17). You got a break. They easily could have ticketed you. Just because the people around you are doing something wrong, doesn't mean you are allowed to and it's ok.

Let it go as you cant see he is a cowboys fan ewww ( jk addy ). He does make a good point. You got away with it laugh it off and thats it. We have all had our fair share of cop stories some crazy others nominal. You should just laugh it off. If the cops would have sprinkled some coke on you and locked you up diffrent story. You never know really why the cop pulled you over. Maybe there was an APB on the look out for some driving a similar car to yours who commited a murder. That stop right there could have saved someones life. Think of the bigger picture man. Im young too im 25 and from jersey we already get a bad name for our driving. Let it go drive on be happy |

I have a curse for driving my friends 2004 V6 Accord.
I was pulling out of a new parking lot, fresh tar, and cheap shitty stock uniroyal tiger paw 30% tread tires, with a v6 fwd, hit the gas a little too hard, and got a tiny bit of tire squeal. No one around, no big deal right. I drive for about 5 minutes and look in my rear view and see a cop, take a turn and half way through the turn he turns all his stuff on. I pull over and not 1 but 2 cop cars are pulling me over. The officer comes up and asks "Why did you do that?" I say "Do what?" he says "We found 28 feet of skid mark in that parking lot you pulled out of". I got a reckless driving ticket, so immediately went back and took pictures and got myself a good lawyer. The case was dropped thankfully. A couple months later, which was the next time I was driving the car, I was going 58 on the interstate in a 55 at the bottom of a big hill, around midnight. I get pulled over by a State Trooper in a charger. He just gives me a warning ticket but I do find it a little ridiculous. I just have really bad luck in that car and I refuse to drive it anymore. |
