It's a crappy picture, but the unit patch on their left shoulder looks like the 81st HBCT from Washington State National Guard. I guess they take the "H" in HBCT seriously (Heavy Brigade Combat Team).

So far my company has administratively separated 3 guys for being fatbodies.
The guy wasn't anywhere near as bad as either of the 1st and 3rd pix posted (I get a red 'x' for the 2nd pic) but he was the biggest Marine I've seen to date (active, at least. I've met one no longer active and he's as bad as the pix posted). I'd still have considered him on the heavy side, though.

When I got out, one of my fellow SSgts was bitching about the regulation, and I had known him for quite some time; every time we had a weigh-in, this motherfucker would starve himself and spend hours in the sauna beforehand, barely making weight. Once they started with the appearance stipulation, he was so fucked. It was so funny. I was also getting sick and tired of having to go stand in the fatty line to get taped after coming in over the standard weight. Being 5'9" (sometimes 5'8") 180-185, I had no chance to make the weight portion. But I had extremely low body fat, so passing tapes was never a problem, but I always harbored a deep resentment for having to go stand in the fatty line at every weigh in. It was bullshit. There I was with a 31" waist standing with fucking fatasses who hadn't seen their belt buckles in years.... It still makes me angry. I dunno, maybe there's something wrong with the way I'm wired, but nothing made me more angry than seeing a fat Marine. I used to see red. It was weird. There was this MSgt in legal at our unit, and he was rotund.... He was trying to chew me out one day, and I just couldn't stand his fatness, so I walked out.... I probably woulda stayed and taken the ass chewing had he not been a whale, but the sweat rolling down his fat rolls on THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AND NECK broke me. I couldn't stand another second being lectured by this complete fucking waste of uniform material. Luckily, my OIC and SNCOIC stood behind me. Everyone hated that fat fucker.
lol...I feel that anger just reading that. I don't like having to slow down pace just for the non-physically capable. I'll admit I worked too much and my fitness declined in the past year, but geez. I have a habit of always going up stairs by taking every other step (impromptu exercise, I suppose). I had gone up 5 flights somewhere last week and passed a large body going DOWN the stair 1 step at a time. They were down half of 1 flight of stairs and had both hands on the railing, were leaning against the wall, and were huffing and puffing. Seriously.... People using the motorized scooters at stores because they're too lazy to walk annoy me, too. I suppose I'm bitter.

I'll understand if you "tl;dr" this...

This is the story of the nastiest Marine I ever had under my charge. I'll call him Lcpl. Whatshisfsck, and not only was he a fat body, he was just disgusting.

My first encounter with him was when he showed up to work approximately one week after check-in at 07:50, 20 minutes late, in dirty, shiny, wrinkled utilities, with a disgusting cover, unshaven, and with his boots looking like didn't even bother to shine them. Unfortunately, my SNCOIC saw him before I did, and I had my ass chewed in the nicest possible way by my GySgt. I spoke with the Lcpl., letting him know that the manner in which he was comporting himself was unacceptable in our unit. I directed him to go back to the barracks, put on a clean set of ironed utilities, shave, shine his boots, stop by the PX and get a hair cut, and select a different cover that didn't look like it needed an oil change. I gave him until 30 minutes before chow to show up looking squared away. Suprisingly, he did as instructed, but only did the bare minimum.

My second encounter with him came during his initial seabag inspection which was conducted by me and one other NCO. The three most important things in this sort of inspection are accountability, serviceability, and marking IIRC. He had missing items, unservicable uniform items, and items that were either not marked or improperly marked. IIRC, we ended up talking to admin and getting him an advance on his clothing allowance, with the difference coming out of his pocket. A followup inspection was conducted which he managed to pass.

My third and worst encounter with him turned out to be what I could only call a fiasco. Our semiannual wall locker/junk on the bunk inspection came around. Being that he was under my charge, I gave him a cursory inspection, followed by a list of things to do to prepare for the inspection. I stopped by his room once a day to ensure that he was working on his preparations, and was making progress on the checklist I gave him. In addition to his lackluster uniform maintenance, he also:

1. Had posters of naked women in his room.
2. Smoked in his room.
3. Had an utterly filthy bathroom.
4. Needed to conduct a thorough field day of his quarters.
5. Needed to change his linen.

All of these items were on the checklist I gave him. To be honest, I should have sat there with him, because the day before the inspection he just stopped working on everything. Consequently, he failed miserably. I got my ass reamed. You know an ass chewing is bad when your GySgt. tells you to GTFO of his sight because he can't stand to look at you, and you have to avoid him for the rest of the day.

Anyhow, to make a long story slightly shorter, I, as well as four other NCOs, had to babysit this Marine around the clock working on his uniforms and his room so that he could pass inspection. Being the NCOIC at the time, everyone was pissed at me because I had to secure their liberty because his crap was so fscked that there was no way one person could unscrew him. After unfscking him, I conducted another inspection, got one of my fellow NCOs to conduct yet another inspection just to be sure I didn't miss anything, and finally got the SNCOIC and my OIC to pass him.

I found out later that the Lcpl. in question was also brought up on malingering charges while in "A" school, could not do more than 3 pullups, and was a general bag of sh1t. I PTed him until he felt like falling down and dying. I made him my personal pet project until he finally faked a shoulder injury and got himself administratively seperated for medical reasons.

The reason I say he faked his shoulder injury was because it was just prior to our being deployed to Okinawa. At the predeployment family function, I pointed out the fact that he had no problem throwing a football to my GySgt. and asked if he thought we should bring him up on malingering charges again. His response was "just let him go".

So yes, these sorts of things happen in all branches of the service.

Yup that's usually the theme with these guys. Three pull-ups, 55 crunches, and 27:29 run time; barely serviceable uniforms and haircuts, etc....

I empathize. My personal favorite fatty was this guy we nicknamed Pooface. It was a bitch to get him over that 2 pull-up hump.... Ridiculous. The guy ate shit all day and even his cheeks had rolls. He barely passed any inspection, if he even passed in the first place.... Usually he ended up passing on re-inspect after failing and therefore getting his ass reamed. he would only pass reinspects after one of us NCO's was assigned to baby-sit.... A joke I like to carry around is that I spent 7 years of my life in the Corps becoming the best babysitter on the planet. It's no lie.

One time we had to stop by his house with him to pick up one of his inspection items (he was married, so he lived off base). HOLY SHIT his place was terrible. He and his wife lived in a more filthy dump than I had ever seen, and I had spent almost four years in college before that, so I had seen some neglected shitholes.... The place smelled like year-old cat shit, there literally was year-old cat shit everywhere, clothes and dirt everywhere. You couldn't see the color of the floor in any room, nor could you see the color of the furniture because there was just shit everywhere..... The kitchen was full of dirty dishes, stacked literally as high as they could go before crashing down to the ground; it was terrible. The filthiest residence I've ever seen by far, but it was thematic with a guy like him.

While we were deployed to Okinawa (to include Pooface), another guy in our shop fucked Pooface's wife. Wasn't that a hilarious scandal.... Also, I just found out he now manages a fast food place (how ironic). One thing I didn't mention is that his formal training for his MOS was a year long and highly technical, and almost guarantees a job with the FAA in damn near any location in the country once you get out, as long as you're not overtly a piece of shit. But I guess that didn't work out for him. Bummer, eh?

That's funny, the gent in question in my post was nicknamed "stinky nuts". I forgot who gave it to him. Someone should get pooface and stinky nuts together for a reunion.

I bet they'd get along pretty well. They'd have plenty of stories about how they were victimized in the Corps.
