You were too wrapped up in what you were saying to realize that he wasn't even referring to what you said. Reading comprehension is a beautiful thing.
I hadn't read the last portion of the initial post until after all that was posted. I never meant to go hunt down revenge or anything, I don't condone behavior like that. So yes, I failed to read the entire OP. Nothing that I posted had anything to do with respecting the value of the dollar, it was more a commentary on the mindset I come across often enough that people who can afford more should therefore pay more for things, which is wrong, and is what NYC's post sounded like to me, as I was unaware of the "get revenge" context of this thread, obviously I had read the title but didn't take it to heart. My point was just that people with more money should've overpay for things, they should pay the same for things, and if they choose to, buy more stuff.

so out of curiousity... you folks that are saying 'just file with your insurance company and forget about it'.... have you ever had anything severe happen to you from another person? i.e. your house broken into and everything personal robbed, etc etc.

Somehow I doubt it.... the entire laid back 'I'll just file with my insurance agency' is also why this shit continues.... they get away with it, and continue to get away with it

Again i'm not saying to this ridiculous extreme, but I know from multiple cases, that police 99% of the time don't do a damn thing with this shit

Reminds me of another conversation.

Lance: Still got your Malibu?
Vincent: Aw, man. You know what some fucker did the other day?
Lance: What?
Vincent: Fucking keyed it.
Lance: Oh, man, that's fucked up.
Vincent: Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless piece of shit fucked with it.
Lance: They should be fucking killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that asshole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
Lance: What a fucker!
Vincent: What's more chickenshit than fucking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't fuck with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

damn that sucks big time... i've gotten my car broken into twice before while it was parked in my apartment building. its annoying as fuck. i'd pay someone to track these guys down so i can give them a piece of justice. i'll think of something that i can pay them back with without landing myself in jail.

oh and i filed a police report together with the other neighbors whose cars got broken into as well. the police did squat. its been 1 yr since the last incident and NOTHING.

Yeah, police don't really do anything. Not for petty stuff like this. My car got keyed a while back and about all you can realiztically do is... nothing.

Although I felt slight redemption when I was walking to the bar a few weeks ago and saw some guys walking towards me, threw a beer can at/onto the cars parked on the side of the street. I just decked him in the face without warning as they walked by me. He went down pretty har since he wasn't expecting it. Felt wonderful. I am sure he will think about it next time.
