I could probably teach him more than two things about driving.

Also, some people think they can drive faster in the rain for some reason, anybody else notice this?

They just don't understand why everyone else is going slower and the whole "friction circle" thing or why their tires lose grip in the rain. "It's just standing water, you'll be fine to do 80".
An E60 M5 was totaled in my area because of this. The guy hydroplaned on the highway, hit the inside barrier, and it was done. Nobody knows how fast he was really going, but 1 rim of a wheel and the tire separated from the spokes, which were still attached to the axle.
Don't worry though, he still has a Gallardo Spyder.

This. I hate it.

If you have no interest in cooking, would I ask you to cook me dinner? No, because it'd most likely be shit. So if you have no interest in driving (aka, people who buy the Prius), you shouldn't be driving because your driving will most likely be shit.

Drove halfway across the country (twice) about a year ago, and I noticed that youngish females driving PT Cruisers on the highway took speed and lack of attention to new heights. Coincidence? Who knows, but it caught my attention and stuck with me.

not gonna lie... i see a lot of younger folks driving 3 series like assholes.

nothing else sticks out in particular, aside from "america, fuck yeah!" people driving their beat up trucks/SUVs. for example, this monday, i pulled over to check my phone, and tried to merge back into the driving lane during a red light. i made hand gestures and lowered my window to ask the driver next to me if he could let me in front. he agreed, and when i tried to merge, he kept inching forward and laughing at me.

Fixed for logical consistency.. Following the logic you originally presented, you are effectively saying that people with no interest in cooking shouldn't be eating.

I have nowhere read or heard any OBJECTIVE evidence suggesting that people buyng Prius' have no interest in driving. On the contrary, one would think that people who pay the premium for a Prius most often have a vested interest in driving, which is why they buy a car that gets decent mileage and in their opinion has a lesser effect on the environment than other cars - because of the fact that they are driving and would like to feel as if they have minimized the impacts of this.

The Prius is also environmentally short sighted. This piece of shit will be on the scrap heap of stupid ideas with-in the next few years. If only if the dumbfuck morons that fall for every eco-scam laid in front of them could be crushed into coffee tables with them.

The Prius' battery contains nickel, which is mined in Ontario Canada. The plant that smelts this nickel is apparently nicknamed "the Superstack" because of the amount of pollution it puts out; the area for miles around it is a wasteland because of acid rain and air pollution.

That smelted nickel then has to travel (via container ship) to Europe to be refined, then to China to be made into "nickel foam," then to Japan for assembly, and finally to the United States. All this shipment for each tiny step in the production process costs a great deal, both in dollars and in pollution. This is a big reason they cost $3000.00

The only thing "green" about the Prius is the owners brain matter. i wish they would all learn how to drive that damn car better or be ran over by a one ton dodge dually equipped with a heavy duty grill guard (preferably a "Ranch Hand") powered by a 24 valve Cummings Turbo Diesel in the HOV lane.

It is more green to buy a used, already built Geo or Corolla or some other hi mpg rice burner when you factor in the environmental costs of manufacturing a prius.

This is an eye opener.

Can you please share the source(s) of information? I would love to show this to all the friends who drive Prius and think they are best cars for the environment.

Thanks!

The overall point of this is true (not sure about each detail) but has nothing to do with this thread

Post was ment in a response to his post above. He was stating they think it's their ecological right, which by the way is ridiculous but some owners really do think like that. I don't notice any other hybrids on the road that pull half the shit prius drivers do. Just forgot to quote, sowwie.

I had this ass clown tailgating me in 30mph traffic in freaking rush hour in the middle of I495 with nowhere to go. Changed lanes because I didn't want to risk anything and this idiot floors it 10m infront of me in the left lane. WTF?

Cars that are more common will seem to have more bad drivers because more cars = more drivers both good and bad. You'll only remember the bad ones since good drivers blend in.

That being said, there are a lot of bad prius drivers on the road. It doesn't help that I dislike (hate) that car and the smug attitude that it is synonymous with. Just shows how foolish people are and how far their heads are stuck up their own asses.

It depends what you mean by bad drivers, but SUVs and pickup trucks have a huge lead in driving drunk, driving too fast for conditions, tailgating, and crashing into bridges and trees.

My ram is my one of my other vehicles and I have been through more driving training than most thanks to my work. Most drivers on the road are idiots and it's a direct reflection of americans thinking driving is a right and not a privilege. Also the I believe the problem with new drivers lays with the training and not the age of the driver. Make the training harder and teach more skills. The ones that make it will be better for it and the ones that don't will be kept off the road.
