It has to be the M5 concept since this is the only car which is still being tested. You'd think we'd at least see spy pics of some upcoming M not to mention it would be one helluva cover up if they introduced a completely new M without us enthusiasts having some knowledge of it's existence.
I just hope they don't use the same "zipper" campaign they did with the 1M. No need to unzip a section of the car every month, just give me everything at once! |

Here are the next M releases after the 135is, er 1M, in somewhat chronological order:
1) MY11.75 Limited Edition E92 M3 2) F10 M5 3) E89 Z4M (not sure what would power this, since the "N54is" is already used in the Z4, and they're certainly not shoehorning the S65 in there) 4) F12 M6 Take your pic...

2012 BMW M5 getting close to its official unveiling
2012 BMW M5 getting close to its official unveiling Our sources indicate that we’re just weeks away from the official unveiling of the new 2012 BMW M5. The super sporty luxury sedan is scheduled to make its world debut in a concept form at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show. The production vehicle will be released later this year with sales beginning in early 2012. Preparing for its world debut, F10 M5 prototypes continue to be tested by German engineers in different climates. Last set of spy photos come from Sweden where BMW, along with other automakers, usually conduct their winters testing. Latest set of spy shots reveal almost entirely the front fascia. The headlights are completely unveiled, while small camouflage tape still covers some section of the front bumper. Design wise, the F10 M5 gets front-end M treatment with the usual aggressive bumper and large air intakes. The production M5 features a hood with a same sporty look emphasized by concave and convex shapes as seen in some of the newer BMWs. The design lines continue to flow from front to end and they become even more substantiated on the sides. The car sits lower than the regular 5 Series and thanks to the wider rear fenders, it sports a more muscular look. At the rear-end, the typical quad exhausts remain with a sculpted diffuser and central intake. A small bootlid spoiler allows the car to remain understated and restrained. The 2012 BMW M5 is powered by an updated version of the engine found in the BMW X5 M and X6 M. The 4.4-liter V8 twin-scroll powerplant will peak at 578-horsepower and 530 lb-ft of torque. The 0-62 mph dash should take about 4.4 seconds. Yesterday’s rumors revolved around the new M5 being available with automatic transmission only, but our sources indicate that these are pure speculations. More on the new 2012 BMW M5 in the upcoming weeks. |

They would make a car in just M trim. Not sure why people think there could be a z4 m coupe. No more z coupes unless they do a z2 coupe. BMW feels there is no reason for it with a Z4 hardtop vert. I still miss my old M coupe, that thing was FUN to drive.

The way BMW is going, it will probably an //M Minivan 2+2 with a uber low roofline, no cargo area, no spare but weighs 7000 lbs. Bring it on BMW, I'm ready for for it...of course it will be easy to get one but not the 1M.

And yes they can fit a S65 V8 in there...BMW already have and it you can buy one (the e89 Z4 GT3). There is more room in the engine bay than the e90 haha!!! |
