haha, I thought this was a game? why so serious?
I'm 28 and know what I'm getting into. And no, I don't think anyone becomes automatically rich.
I work hard, and the specialty I am trying to go into happens to be rewarding.

What's with all this antagonism? Even if I had money, will I shell out $800k just to get a car? Probably not. It's just a dream, but a realistic one. Please don't ruin my dream

The money earned is actually pretty decent, especially if you specialize. What people forget is the 10 years of school and enormous debt that usually comes with it. Add in skyrocketing insurance rates and the high cost of real estate for a thriving practice and it isn't as "easy" as some people seem to think it is.

To the poster that all of these comments are directed towards, considering you're still a med student at 28, thinking you'll have an extra $900K of purely disposable income to spend on a car in 10 years is pure fantasy. To be frank, you would be a complete moron to spend that kind of cash on a frivolous item like a 918 than invest it in your practice so you could buy it a little later in life.

1. Ferrari 550 Maranello. At all costs. If the world is coming end, I feel really bad for the first person I can track down who owns one. LOL

2. Nonrealistic dream car? I don't know. I really just want that Maranello. I'll say an F40, an F50, or an Enzo.

Maybe I'm just too detail-oriented? I said ~40. That means it will be at least 12 years down the road for me. Last time I checked, this was a hypothetical situation where one meets his MAXIMUM earning potential.

That was a half joke for me and people are over reacting? Well, let me just tell you it all depends on specialty, my friend. Whoever said I would open up a practice? I do well enough that won't get dragged into family medicine. And no, I get my facts straight from the experience
I knew I should've stuck with a GT3

And half the people fail to even get in due to various reasons.
And please do not act like you know the "truth" because you talked a handful of non-surgical specialists.
This is it as far as my participation in this thread. I apologize for being a naive med student. I just love cars

I'd imagine that at some point later in my life with some smart decisions I'd have enough to be able to afford it. I'm 21, in uni, and am paying for my own M3

Wow... Do you know how much $$$ you need to buy a $800k car... even if you make 2 ta 500k a year you need a place to live, food, gas, insurance, savings, another car to drive....(Cus im sure you wont be daily driving a 918) RETIREMENT... (Thats what Im saving for, Im 22).. And a huge school loan...

I don't know what your situation is but if you can buy a 918 more power to you.. A friend of my has a lot of cars and he was invited to see the 918... One of his cars is a WHITE Carrera GT... He likes Porsches...

But as for me most likely my next car will be a M3 or 1M... And I cant wait to hit the track in them...

My dream car is a Zonda Cinque, But a more realistic car in this category is a McLaren mp4-12c
