Your credit card company will not chalk it up to a loss. Your bank will do a chargeback to the merchant account provider who will in turn charge it back to the store who ran the credit card without checking for matching identification. It will be up to the store to check the camera recordings and go after the thief to recoup their lost money.

You don't have to ever show ID when using a cc unless the back of card isn't signed.

It reminds me of all those police stings where they just leave a running car in the street and wait for somebody to steal it.

Didn't have to testify as the guy took a plea bargain. Looks like he will be on Probation until 2015, he had to go do a picture line up for the accomplice today.

i don't see what the problem is... you CC will give you your money back... big whoop

I've had my card info stolen a couple of times in the past, it was used, i called, got my money back, got a new card and new number, moved on

this is why a CC is better than Cash

if he had stolen $250 cash you wouldn't be getting it back now would you?

So true. However my bro dropped his wallet when we were in a club and we reported it to the manager prior to leaving. The next day he got a call back saying that they found the contents of the wallet including $150 cash but not the wallet (it was a $400 Loui V.)...go figure

Leave $250 cash on the table in a bar and walk away. That's a big tip, not stolen.
