I also have an Omega and a Blendtec blender. Both get lots of use.

A tip for the Omega -- freeze peeled bananas. You can 'juice' them and end up with something close to soft serve ice cream, only healthy. Look up some YouTube videos and see what people do. I know it sounds a bit strange but the results are quite good.

I have juiced in the past, the clean up is always such a pain.

Now we have a Champ HP Blender, chops up anything, I just throw the hole fruit in there(for the most part). My morning smoothie is a cup of oatmeal, a banana, an apple, an orange, 1/2 cup of nonfat greek yogurt, misc berries or seasonal fruit, some almond milk, and a scoop of Living Fuels Superberry, and a scoop of Supergreens. This is for both my wife and I.

My usual one is carrots, kale, cucumber flavored with apple or pear. It's what i have for breakfast if i'm too lazy to cook steel cut oats. Wanted to do beets to increase my performance in road biking but found out that i am allergic to beets the hard way. Oh well.

1 apple, 1 Orange, 4 Kale leaves, 3 Celery Stalks, 1/2 bunch parsley, 1 cucumber, 1/4 lemon, 1 Carrot. Makes about 32oz.

Try to stay away from mixing too many sugary fruits/veggies. A lot of people think they're doing themselves a favor by juicing beets, carrots, apples, pears, pineapple, grapes, etc...but you're really taking in a lot of glucose with these. Check out this link to see the gylcemic index of fruits and veggies. The lower the number the less sugar it has: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/wha...cindlist_4.htm

Green juice
1 bundle of kale
1 cucumber
1/2 apple
1/2 lemon

Detox juice
1 red beet
3 celery stalks
1 apple
1 carrot
nub of ginger

Beta juice
3 carrots
1 apple
1/2 lemon
nub of ginger

General rule is buy organic if you can. Wash your fruits and veggies thoroughly otherwise you'll be ingesting the pesticides.

Well carrots and apple juice is one of my favorite juice.I drink daily apple juice in my breakfast.Instead of drinking apple juice eat apples. It is also a good, source of dietary fiber, vitamin B6 and copper, and a very good source of vitamin C and manganese.

I've heard a lot about this but not really sure how it works? Do you guys use it as like a meal replacement or in conjunction with full meals? I wouldn't mind trying it if it's as good for you as everyone says

Hi there,

My typical blend (a tall glass each for 2 people) is 4-5 kale leaves and stalks, 4 celery stalks, 1 cucumber, 1 lemon, 1 orange, 2 apples, 1 handful of parsley, 1 inch of ginger.

I will often mix in 2-3 carrots instead of the orange. Really depends on what looks good at the market and what you have on hand. The ginger gives it a nice peppery bite. And either peel the lemon and orange before juicing or juice separately, the juice will be very bitter if you don't.

The hardest part is the cleanup. I bury the leavings in my garden, rinse the parts, scrub the element a bit and put the whole lot in the dish washer. Kind of a pain but the results are well worth it.

Good luck and keep us posted!

i have an omega juicer but it's in the garage. too much effort imo and it wastes food.

i prefer actually eating fruit/veggies (fiber is as important as anything, and it's all dumped from the juicer) along with an occasional jug of juice or smoothie from the supermarket

I love my new omega juicer. Been doing a lot of carrots from Costco (10 lbs for less than $5???) and apples, cucumbers, and ginger. The ginger adds so much to it!

Also like kale and swiss chard from the garden.

I've even done watermelon juice...so good but I realize it's much easier to just eat those

Big part of your juicing experience would be the juicer you use.I have used a juicer when I was starting and it didn't really give me good tasting juices so I searched and finally found the Juicepresso. I super love juicing greens.

Get a GreenStar Juicer, its like the bmw of juicers. Green Star juicers use the exclusive stainless steel twin gear technology to extract more juice with a higher nutritional content compared to other juicers. The juice is not heated and more nutrients are preserved
