Yes, computer engineering degree, software engineer right now.

Just a though: People who are successful in field X may have a degree in X, but that doesn't necessarily mean that success was caused by the degree... they very well could have been successful in field X regardless of a degree (because they may have already had the needed knowledge/experience or would be able to pick it up without a degree), and so they got the degree just as a afterthought or supplement. Correlation does not imply causation. Just something I feel is the case for a lot of folks I work with and have run in to. (counterpoint: I think a degree helps indirectly regardless of the field though because of all people you make connections with, internship opportunities, and the piece of paper you get at the end).

Depends on what you plan on doing upon graduation. I tried MEBA, AMO, container ships, preposition and now in oil field services.

More money in petroleum engineering as far as working offshore but, the license will help greatly, if you plan on being a third, second, first or chief engineer on a rig/ship.

How many years till you graduate?

We have a few SUNY grads on my rig.

So far I have not used my major (Cognitive science) or my minors (Psychology + Music). That's likely to change, though. I've only been out of school for a few years. Did some bone disease research on mice for a while. That was fun. Also worked with illegals in a warehouse building desks for a couple months. I'm going back to school to be a doctor because there are no jobs, and pay is shit for the ones that exist for me. Kind of sucks because I genuinely hate people. "Hi Doctor Ce-..." "Go fuck yourself; how are you feeling?"
