Good taste! Gouryella is actually DJ Tiesto as well...along with Ferry Corsten.

I lost a little respect for Tiesto - he was sniffing cocaine in the bathroom at The Mayan in L.A. Saw it myself. Damn druggie.

I'm sure they all do. I respect the music, not the artists. I am in no way a "fan" of any of these people and that is why I don't know many of the artists or songs. I don't go to raves, or concerts, I just listen to the music. To me, it is like classical, orchestra, but with a hard bass and less boring. I don't much care for the popular music, rock, rap, because they have such bland music, crappy lyrics, and the musicians can't sing. The singers I have heard on my MOS CDs have so much more talent than any of the popular artists who simply need to wear lots of makeup and a skimpy clothing to be famous.

Word.

I think concerts and clubs (featuring artists) are cool. It's a social event. Besides, it's amazing to see how a European guy can control a massive crowd with just two turntables and a pile of 12 inch wax. I've even went to a symphony.

You're missing out the real thing.

Kind of switching gears, I like mostly Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, and Jazz. I try to stay away from the radio, as most stuff is just over commercialized junk food. I tend to listen to artist w/ a unique and original sound, for instnace, Pharell(Neptunes, N.E.R.D., whatever), they've created a sound that's all their own, though it's often imitated by other producers because their sound(the neptunes) is what sells and makes hit records. Other note worthy groups/artist/musicians in my book are Coldplay, Mars Volta, Robin Thicke, D' Angelo(dude has put out some classic stuff), Depeche Mode(old stuff), Interpol, Game, Dr. Dre, Van Hunt, AFI, Maroon 5, Lenny Kravitz, U2, Killers, Incubus, Down to the Bone(acid jazz), The Roots, and so on...

E90-4life, tell me which current trance/dance artists you like.

I can easily recommend others based on your current proclivities. I used to be a trance DJ.

Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt. I can't believe you forgot Classical, yet you put Opera, which isn't even a type of music!

Whoa, I can't believe I left out classical as well - it was actually one of the categories but I think it was mistakingly overtyped with 'opera'

EDIT: Dang, doesn't seem like I can edit the poll.
